this really is not bothering me as much as i make it out to. Im just looking a few steps ahead.
Player A makes a Minecraft forum for DS players in Minecraft. Player B makes a EvE forum, for DS players in EvE. Player C makes a WOW forum. Player B and C get shut down, and cry about player A.
Plus im a little erked about Minecraft taking up a topic in the latest topics box.

It was, and I think it still is, against the rules to advertise a game.
This is in the grey area, because it does give the game publicity, but it is also simply calling out to fellow darkspacers to have fun together in games that aren't darkspace.
it's not like we're going desert darkspace for minecraft, after all, they're completely different game types. EvE and infinity however, are more in the grey zone than minecraft. <- IMO ^^
EDIT: And this IS the soapbox, for everything not pertaining to darkspace.

I think they care a little less now that there is no direct competition between DS and most other games. As for the latest topics, I'd personally be more annoyed at some of the other topics that get bumped. Besides, diversifying to other games is what keeps me willing to keep picking up DS. Having had fun with those guys on the minecraft server makes me want to play with them here since in most cases I never have. /2cents

With one player on it's fine, but as soon as a second player comes on, the server crashes :/

This is a new and temporary issue...
Pretty sure he was asking why it was down for a while (when I rebooted the computer, but forgot to start the server again)

I am waiting for bukkit to come out until releasing a new server plan, for now you can connect to codingrebels.com and play vanilla 1.8
Once bukkit is released, I plan on hosting two servers:

- SMP / RP / PVP / New map

- CMP / Freebuild / Old map
If you have any questions, or suggestions, post them here, and i'll respond asap.
Also, I've expanded the player base to include my small school (under 160 students, only some of which play minecraft) just so you know.
All darkspace members will be granted a darkspace tag, and moderate permissions (better than a normal user, lesser than a moderator.)
All students from my school (windward) will be granted the windward tag, and slightly lower permissions than darkspace, but higher than normal users.
Hopefully with a bigger playerbase, and two dedicated servers, instead of one hybrid, things will be more interesting this go-around.

UPDATE:
We now have three servers:
codingrebels.com:25565 - Survival / Roleplaying Server
codingrebels.com:25566 - Creative / Freebuild (Uses original darkspace map!)
codingrebels.com:25567 - Vanilla / Free-for-all Server
For now, they'll be pretty laggy, and I have yet to install the old map onto the creative server. Reason being: I'm lazy, and they're all now running off of my server tower, which has 3gigs ram, and a 2.66GHz single core processor. If anyone would like to donate server parts, you will receive compensation (non-monetary, most likely more in-game permissions, and the option to have a server of your choice hosted (you'd be the owner, and have control over the server))

Well i just bought minecraft finaly, but i need to know if the server is still up and if my mod status is still online, also i cant seem to connect to any of those listed servers.

well did you save the file from the days i was on....i really wanna find out if my minecore in this server survived......mainly because the server im on let me create a new minecore with the massive ravine it came from,. anyway if your still having some major issues i can try to help.
