When ever i try to play its that. or i do get to play, but you are there and there is something wrong with the server followed by resets every odd 5 or 20 minutes. cant really build like that.

You're having really bad luck then...
The server typically runs several hours without interuption, the only exception being when it crashes while I'm alseep, and while I'm trying to debug why it's crashing while I sleep.
BTW: You now need a legitament account to connect, and i'm not changing this back anytime soon without an extremely good reason. If you don't own the game, and are running a pirated client, tough luck, you're going to have to pay the 15 Euros/21 USD if you want to play. This is both to prevent hackers trying to login as you, and because piracy of a game NOT EVEN OUT OF BETA really, really irks me.

Until posted otherwise, the server is going extensive debugging, and reboots will probably be more frequent than normal.

Whatever happens i just hope when he is done, he keeps it up and play with minecraft instead of the server.

Make sure you're playing in online mode with a legitimate account.
If that isn't it, then try connecting again in about 5 minutes, the server reboots every two hours and you might have caught it at the wrong time.
(Also, the server was down for maintenance till about 5pm PST today, as I was configuring a MAJOR update.)

I'm sort've on break from it, though, but I'll drop by the server sometime.
