Shift+J is a bad tactic to use if you're up against anyone who knows what they're doing since it drops you a set distance away unless you manually cancel the jump sooner, much better to set a manual jump point. I suppose it's less risk for luth since they have cloak.

What if you decloak and shoot at the enemy, and get jumped by 4 stations and dread? LOL.

I was referring to the actual decloak time itself =P

But Larky.....
The cooldown is only for re-cloaking.
You can still decloak immediately after you've cloaked.

I like and agree with Larks point about waiting for your cloak to be ready before attacking. This is a tactic i have regularly employed myself whilst playing that ensures you can bail out of combat as soon as you come under fire. for a faction which relies largly on NOT GETTING hit to survive prolonged warfare having an escape route ready is essential. The cloak is particularly useful as it allows you to stick around and re-engage far sooner than the suggested emergency jump tactic and has less risk of planetary collisons. I once single handedly engaged and destroyed a ugto dread in his airspace (using k'luth claw) simply by cloaking and uncloaking before he could truely launch a counter attack. This takes a lot of pacience and precision timing but usually u ould get in 2-3 vollys of torps before a counter attack could occur.
Now for the sad news. Some of you may have noticed i have not played or posted in ridiculously long. this is because my old computer broke down and i have only just replaced it. However it has been replaced with a mac and as far as i am aware darkspace is not compatible. This could be the end of my time on darkspace. BIG BIG BIG thank yous to all those who have posted here. Particularly KENNY NABBOO who has supported (whether intentionally or not) me from my early days piloting with the TICKS. please continue posting here to help the new players advance to conquer.
Yours sincerely ,
Howlingwind
p.s. if darkspce is compatible with mac please send me a Personal Message.
