A new point i really think could help people but in not sure of myself. How do you beat planet huggers. they just sit and heal and let the planet beat you down slowly.

LOL. I could answer both of those easy.
But then I'd be cutting down several years worth of work for you.

In a game call POTBS, which is a naval warfare game set in 1720, a large amount of focus was put into so called spiking. Where you would set a target and instead of just firing at will you would wait until everyone had an arc and then the entire team would fire. This was designed so that the opponent would have little time to start repairs or to get a block from another ship. It seems to me this tactic would work very well for the darkspace world as well, especially icc where coordinated missle volleys would be hard to evade or destroy.
This already may be a strategy but i have not seen anyone here using it

i know its hard.
anyway on topic the best way to kill hostiles.
grab 6 to 12 stations.
jump into a nice big group
hit the self destruct key.
should some already be heavly damaged you have a nice BIG explosion

K'luths sometimes get to do this (if the players are so inclined.... ). We get into range, stay cloaked. Signal the ready, decloak and you get 4 or 5 dreads hitting you with alphas.
If it's your unlucky day, a dico might also reveal itself.

Well, I hate to point it out, but oh well.
DO NOT HIT ICC SHIPS ON SAME ARC.
To effectively kill ICC ships, two or more ships hit two arcs. This limits the amount of energy that an ICC pilot can migrate from arc to arc. If you all attack from one side, you get to take on all of his shield, hull and armor (assuming the ICC pilot is worth a damn). Instead, by hitting more than one arc, the most you have to peel thru is 50% of his shield (assuming 25% per arc, migrated to either suffering shield). Should I point out that it isnt as easy as saying..."I want all my energy in the left arc dumped into my fore arc, and my right into my aft". So, basically, this effectively nullifies much of shield migration by ICC.
When shields are gone, sure, fire same arc all you want. But initially, to peel the onion, find seperate arcs.
Is this something only a few 'Luth vets know? I always wondered that......

Wouldn't the ICC pilot just keep pressing the buttons for those two arcs, meaning you still have to go through the same amount? It would be kinda dumb that if you're attacked from 2 arcs, you just sit and dont rotate shields at all.

Agree with "Howlingwind's tactics", disagree with "for cowards".

"Kluth now have a 15 second delay between cloaking and un cloaking...
we cant just uncloak shoot and cloak anymore now we have to wait "
if, at any point in your entire kluth career, you were literally "waiting" to decloak, you are a terrible pilot.
Cruisers and destroyers:
get some speed, target the flank of an enemy vessel, time your decloak so that you will finish decloaking just as you reach the targets flank, fire an alpha, immediately cloak again. have a teammate do the same thing from the other side, timed so that he or she will be firing just as you pull off. make a wide turn around at slow speed to recooperate energy, accelerate and repeat the attack. best time to do this is against stragglers in a fleet, or on the edge of a large fleet action.
dreadnaughts:
in this instance speed isnt really an asset you have unless youre fighting multiple stations. instead what you want to do is target a large vessel, close the distance and then slow down before decloaking. use the targets shield arcs to protect you from its teammates fire. get off as many shots as seems reasonable given your positioning, and then break off and cloak. have smaller vessels make their attacks first to break up enemy formations so that you can do the heavy hitting with a bit of room to work in. a dreadnaughts best friend is the destroyer distracting the enemy.
15 seconds is a fair bit of time, sure, but if youre smart it doesnt matter.

Too simplistic, Lark.
You have to time your decloak if you're up against a superior force and want to pick off one of the stragglers.
I do that all the time.
- I wait until I've put my target between the other enemies and myself.
- I wait until the heavies have jumped off and the straggler is left behind.
- I wait until the dico that I'm coordinating with is in position and have dictored my target.
- I wait until I'm in the target ship's rear arc before decloaking and giving him an alpha
- I wait until my JD is fully charged before I decloak and attack
- I wait until the enemy dico is out of range, or had jumped out
etc etc etc
There will always be cases where you have to wait. Because that 15 secs is critical.
What if you decloak and shoot at the enemy, and get jumped by 4 stations and dread? LOL.
