- Redone entire main hull and the wing pods to reduce poly counts
- Reduced a lot of unnecessary beveling and small polygons
A couple of edge face view to see the extrusions, tapering and stuff used to turn spheres and cylinders into the ship.

Realy like the glossy finish on those ship its gives them an aliens *yeah from the movie* feel to em and realy organic.
im not to sure about the "wings' on your dread to me it gives a bit of a mechanic feel to em cuz they realy resemble fighter wings.
Still love the front end

UPDATE:
CARAPACE Cruiser
Re-textured Carapace.
This is close to what I envisioned. The shape is about final, just the textures left to perfect.
Please help me improve by commenting.
KRAKEN Dreadnought
Remodel the hull completely. Optimizing mesh.
Also close to the final version.
Retextured the ship for a more smooth appearance.
The idea is to have a scaly belly, and the dark shell looking top.
Till now I still have no idea how to make the vents glow. :\
Comments pls to help me improve.
Finally, both the Kraken and Carapace side by side for a size/scale comparison.

Beautiful work!!
As you ask for improvements:
-The "arms" of the Kraken are a little round, they look like horn.
Their tips could point out more straight, (to the enemy).
And with an "elbow" link it would look more aggressive.
-The "arms" are attached to the body in a + shape(top,bottom,left,right)
maybe a X shape looks better, like turning the axis.

Pincer rebirth.
Poly count ard 1.9K
I retained the main body and head which I always liked, with that Cyclops look to it, then added it stuff to make it look aggressive and spiky, and very alien.
JUST UPDATED AGAIN:
- Rearranged the 4 longitudinal spines to be more of a vertical orientation, rather than horizontal... this gives the main hull more vertical action
- Thickened the upper and lower scythes. More meaty and thicker looking now.
- Retextured the arms to make them more blended in

- Split the hull in half then mirrored it, getting rid of some of the poly problems
*** I really dunno what's the final poly count all of a sudden.
Program reports it as 2276, then suddenly 3808, then suddenly 1916... Getting a bit hairy here.......***
And the family comes....

OMG those ships are works of art! Best looking ships DS could ever have! I want that Pincer, it looks like a seriously offensive-capable ship. Look at all those potentially fantastically-placed hardpoints! That's the kind of offensive ship a Kluth engineer would design and be proud of!
I also like how it's wider than normal and not as long, which makes maneuvering different.
Imagine that thing uncloaking in front of you and unleashing a crapload of disruptors, torps, SI, you name it!
Seriously devs and admins, add these ships. He has some serious talent for this.
