here is my idea, how about :
advanced ships!!!!! Ta Rah!!!
example:
Grand Assault Dread - AFE engines preinstalled 3 CL2K 4 CL1k 6 CL550
8 fusion torps 6 rail guns
everything else the same.
Grand Assault Cruiser - AFE engines preinstalled 3 CL1k 4 CL500
7 fusion torps
everything else the same.
Grand Support Station - Shipyard feature with limited holding space allowing for up to 5 ships to dock at a time 10 CL2k 10 Fusion torps
6 fighter bays 2 pulse sheilds AFE engines preinstalled
everything else the same.
well this is just an example

Battleship. Slow, big armor and bigger guns. I am talkin shooting shells from like10,000 GU away. Or a ship with only 1 gun. Some kind of nuke. A missle if reaches its target would vaporize everying in a 5,000 GU radius.

I have an improvement to the stations...
Well, not really an improvement, but bump up the explosion damage that they do, so we can have some more mourning_zRos runnin around and blowin up fleets. Thats more realistic, because hey, its like a freakin planet blowin up

This reminds me of people who say that CL2K aren't overpowered and then have the attitude that ships shouldn't be too uber...
what kind of game you want here guys?
You can't have 4 up CL2K on a ship and have non-uber ships in long lasting battles. It just won't work... those 4+ CL2K's are throwing a spanner in your balence.
In reguards to mobile SY idea: Thought of it for a while now. realy good for the game... allthough i don't know how F's gonna handle the spawn code...

It seems the devs want to keep GA as bragging rights..
I agree. At the most I'd say maybe allow them to pre-mod ships at shipyards so they don't have to wait for stuff to build.. just build their own ships, but still have the same ships as the rest.

The whole DS world is talking about an mobile Sy.
I say, but i speak only for myself, if i reach the Rank of an GA,
i will never Fly an mobile SY.
If ever reach this Rank i want a ship/Station which is powerful enough
to make this honourable.
Like a battle Station, and i mean a real battle Station...
I am not a friend of balancing, because on day every system is as the other
and there will be only one ship with all avaible systems on board and and and.....

First, no overpowered ship suggestion PLEASE. 'Assault' Cruisers and other similar 'full firing arc with lots of firepower' ships are already overpowered by design (they are ships with assault ship's firepower/armor, and with skirmish ship's firing arc/maneuvrability), don't add to it.
If you want to propose a new ship (which is useless since .482 is doing a complete redesign of all ships under a new system you are not knowledgeable about), you should be aware that you must sacrifice some advantages of the ship to gain new one. Ex.: EAC could have no special slot, but two extra full heavy weapon slot and one extra full heavy laser slot.
Btw, higher rank ship should be HARDER to fly, not easier(ships like AC are horribly designed, since they are powerful AND easy to pilot). Lower rank ships should have full arc weapons (easier to pilot but lower potential), and higher rank ships should have more weapons but in limited arcs (harder to pilot but higher potential).
So please, please, PLEASE, don't suggest a n00b-ship for GA rank.
Second, mobile shipyards would be next to useless because:
- You can't have that ship without a shipyard.
- You need minerals to build ships.
Which means it would be almost useless in a system where you own a planetary shipyard (because you can already spawn there), and it would be almost useless in a system where you don't own any planet with minerals(because you won't have minerals to spawn there, and if you can bring minerals from another system, you could just bring reinforcement for another system)
Beside a couple of exploit, the only use it could have would be to bypass the pop/tech/building requirement needed to spawn ships at a beach-head planet.
Not only would that ship add little to the game, but it would bring tons of technical issues with it. Like adding mobile shipyard in the spawning screen, the ability to store ships in other ships(yikes), the cost of the mobile shipyard to buy minerals for other players to build their ship with, etc.
Ho, and it would be damn boring to be a mobile shipyard.

I really like the idea of a GA station/ship
what if you give each faction an unique station:
give the UGTO a fighter base with 20 fighter pods and more armor. lets say 8 heavy armor. and it would be nice if there were some different fighters introduced. (doesn't have to be any new models, but just some different weaponry. we could have :basic railgun fighters, small cl150 fighters, bombing fighters, energy draining fighters, etc)
give the icc a sensor station or missile station. that could have some spacial high range ecm/eccm device and 8 proton cruise missiles. and 2 pulse beams for point defense. it could have 6 shields and 2 heavy armor for protection
give the k'luth a hive with lots of disruptors(12 or so) and a few larvae(8)
it could have some better protection (8 heavy armor)
if there will be new GA stations/ships they should be unique for their faction instead of just uber-stations.

What would be the point of having them on planents seeing as how almost all the time theres a ga in the mv and on the admiral server, most likely one on each side... so theres really no point of having them on planets... that and how are you supposto get metals heavy urd darkmatter ect ect on to the ship for ships to spawn off of the gas ship... 40x cargo?? im not thinking so... sorry bro
