I was testing to see if weapons racks affected fighters, and they do. However, it seems to be capped at 60%, i put 8 adv weapon racks on my agincourt and it raised my total fighters per slot from 5 to 8. According to my math it should have raised it to 9. 5x1.8=9. I was just curious if it was capped or if weapons racks may not be functioning properly.

i wouldnt be suprized if this was the case with more enhancments and hull types

Yes, weapons coolers have virtually no effect. Which is sad, there are certain situations where you would want to be able to fire faster instead of each shot doing more damage. Such as with missiles and fighters.

Indeed, but weapon coolers work on nothing, they have no affect on any weapon. Which means they should be removed from the store, as they are a total waste of credits.

Cooldown is a value specific to cannons, as darkmaster said.

it used to affect everything from core w to missiles, to fighters, to cannons..
Having recently baught 8 adv weap coolers for my LS, and seeing they did nothing, had to trash them.
Later i equiped a combat dessy in the same way only to find it too seemed to get no advantage from the enhancments.
I then proceeded to write a support ticket out asking about said enh only to be told that it has not been changed in some time... yet a dev here says it has...
again, this is assuming what sens said was true. When i get my new computer going, and have a normal FPS, you can bet i sure a hell will be in beta testing each enh on each hull type.
again, sorry bout all this if what sens said is not true. (in that case, Defiance slaps [=Wolf=]Sens in the head)

Contrary to what some have said. I actually used the battle dread as my main platform for testing weapons coolers in beta. With 8 adv weapons coolers it reduced the fireing time by around 8 percent and that could have just been due to differences in any number of things. Perhaps the cap is 8% then?

we should not assume it is a cap imho. I cant imagine the staff actualy doing something like that on purpose... expecialy when their economy is based on it. More like an un-expected bug. My Dessy worked fine befor 1.6. I too based my purchase off of a test done in beta pre 1.6 with a Battle dread and 8 adv wcooleers. It performed ecxeptionaly.

There is no hard cap, although each enhancement affects weapons to varying degrees. Cooldown, in particular is a very low value to start.

why would that be? 48% faster firing should be 48% faster firing.. Why is there an arch to it?

Because fire rate isn't soley dependent on cooldown.

was in beta again today, and my BD with adv wep coolers functioned as expected. Im betting my combat dessy will to.. whenever i get back to it.
