Then you truly deserve to die everytime you get into your long range ship. You want to stick to a theme when the situation calls for the reverse, it's your funeral.

You can deploy MDs when you have dictors protecting you. Case in point, Fargo cluster (yes, everyone's tired of that) with it's 3 dictored planets. You can sit pretty deep in the dico field and pepper any UGTO or shroom that comes your way with PCMs.

But when up against Kluth or EADs in deep space, you better think differently. If you don't, you die. Simple as that.

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

You can think like that all you want if you want ICC to be UGTO v2. However, I actually want factions to be different from each other.

I honestly don't know why you're so opposed to making ICC less like UGTO and more like ICC. It'll make the game have more variety and be more fun.




ICC:
Missles-work, extremely effective
Pulse tech-work, extremely effective
Shields-work, extremely effective
No falloff=long rang- Works if user isn't a noob (try killing a pro hc...)

UGTO:
Fighter-broken, countered by both enemy factions
Flux-broken, waste of space and energy
EMP-broken, waste of a good cannon slot
Armor- not useful, occasionally someone puts on ablative on stations, but not any other ships

I agree, ICC is UGTO v2.
UGTO is the generic, mundane template used to create all other factions.
ICC uses this template + great add-ons.

Also, MDs become a primary AND stand alone ship when near a planet cluster. When in deep space, it can easily become majority MDs with a few SS, dictor, and AD to guard them vs UGTO. BTW MDs make great bombers.
When vs kluth, use AD's shield rotation to laugh at their so called assault ship archetypes.

Because ICC already is very different. And it is their challenge to comunicate,adapt and to decide if they either
engage Ugto Stations and Dreads with Missiles.
Or if they fight Kluth with ADs and Scouts.

You're reading it all wrong.

ICC is already very different from the other 2 factions. You have shields. And you have many more dedicated missile ships.


What YOU want, is to make or nerf the other 2 factions to the point where they will sit pretty for your missiles to hit. What is wrong currently is that some ICC players just refuse to adapt to the tactical situation and instead decide to QQ about when their enemies are not stupid enough to sit at 1500gus and be missile fodder. LOL.Not gonna happen. Kluth will cloak and close in, your missiles go poof. UGTO will jump you, your MDs go poof.


The tools are already there for you. Dictors to keep your enemies at arm's length. And assault ships to escort your missile ships and protect them from any close range attack. Scouts to ping Kluth. Trust me... if I were faced with an MD and AD at close range, I'd engage the AD first. But even before that, I might wanna kill your scout.


I'm not opposed to ICC being what they are. What I'm opposed to is the constant QQing to nerf other factions.

Yeah. MDs are very effective standoff ships when bombing planets, and defending them from within dictor fields. Use the right tool for the right job.

I really don't know why they're QQing about other factions when they're using it all wrong. You don't go head to head with a tank with a towed artillery piece! It's like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Ugh,

I never said I wanted to nerf the other factions. What I want is to change ONE faction, so it plays more like it should. But I see nothing is getting through, so I'll just shut up until new ship layouts are released.

OK OK, so you don't wanna nerf anyone.

Yes, waiting for the new cruiser layouts is a good idea. I'm withholding remodding my cruisers just for that. Just hope that it doesn't take Two Weeks.

Anyway, the only thing I can think of for ICC is to give each cruiser and dread class another close in combat ship.

I'm confused. Somewhere along the lines this went from qq'ing about kluth to people claiming ICC sucks at long range..................(periods for emphasis on the overwhelming amount of stupid that is).....................................................................................

I know how hard it can be to have the best long ranged ship in the game and arguably the best close range ship in the game too, and have the best energy management in the game, and have the ability to put all of your "armor" on one side of your ship. But its something you will somehow have to live with. It will be hard but you can do it. I have faith in you.

Not a qq thread. It was an idea I came up with and posted for open discussion. Nobody liked it, proved to me it wasn't a good idea, what's the problem?

Also, it doesn't really matter if anyone goes "off-topic" if some meaningful discussion is exchanged. I've come to realize that UGTO small ships are in fact too weak. That's why UGTO resorts to station spam, their other ships suck.
