I was thinking, that it would be a nice thing for the community to create a "Player of the month-week-day" award.
It could be month or week or day, as you prefer.
That'd boost the spirit of competition!
Bombing or MIRVing points should obviously be ignored when counting the winner, or with this idea we'd have storms of mirvers flying around trying to win the award.

That is kinda interesting.
How would it be assessed? Most prestige gained in [x] amount of time?
We could give out neat little temporay badge with a target on it...

Have it like the player with the most pres for his/her rank that month. That way players of all ranks will be able to participate.
Like have:
Supply of the Month
Builder of the Month
Combat of the Month
Privateer of the Month
Transport of the Month
For each rank, or for like
0-999
1,000-9,999
10,000-19,999
20,000-49,999
50,000+

yes, but can the site manage who gains the most? or do we gotta check everyones profile and compare it against a month ago? Because doing that by hand seems a lot of work

I really don't know what would be best, if "Player of the week" or "Player of the month".
Player of the week, would be cool because it'd come out often, but it wouldn't create too much anticipation.... Player of the of the month award would create a lot of anticipation, but heck 1 month is a long time!
THe idea of having the winner in each separeted disclipine is also cool.

How about you do it like this, separate it into ranks captain and under and exery rank over into to two sections.
make it harder for admirals to beat off new players, and so that new players recieve a differant award to higher ranks.
if possible to make a badge saying when they won it for their profile so people can see their progress.
Checking by hand may be slow but im sure musiq has friends who would be willing to scout round profiles to see whos best and record the change (one being me)

Rank is irrelevant in my opinion.
One can make 1300 points a day by supplying whether he's an Admiral or Captain.

Not the best idea. That would encourage mirving whole systems to make the most pres. find another way to assess the 'best' player.

well if you think about it you cant really have member of the day becouse youd spend all day lookin at profiles and then the next day and the next until youve got so many to look at you wont be able to play yourself, and also i think the award for week should really only be given out if some one in all places has exelled over what any one could predict (exept bombing)

Because people would only vote for people they like, not people that are deserving of the award.

Well I say do it on a month to month basis. It might be too taxing to do it on a per week basis.
Also, I think prestige should be disregarded. Any fool can gain prestige.
Lets base it on stats - yes even bombing. Over 30 days, the top 3 players who have gained the most of stat - kills, combat, supply, bombing, transport, building etc. could be listed, and then players could vote out of the three players for each catagory.
That way, people who have actually excelled would be represented and people could vote out of personal experience, who they consider the best of the best.
