an ICC support station, along with escorts, reported contact with 2 unidentified alien vessels. these vessels were widely shaped, and possessed cloaking technology. at first it was beleived they were K'luth ships of a new design, but they did not match any previous known design, and were made of nothing but metallic minerals. No life signs could be detected. The ships decloaked, and flew within weapons fire of some of the station escorts. an ICC transport on hand managed to board one of the vessels with 10 squadrons of heavy infantry, but shortly after the alien vessel cloaked and all contact was lost.

Officials from ICC headquarters refuse to release any information concerning the possibly discovery of a new alien race. previously released material clue to another race mentioned in the scriptures of K'luth military reports and historical literature. UGTO listening posts apparently also detected the ICC fleet during the time scale of the occurance, and claim nothing happened at all.

Further information pending...

Judging from the dimensions recorded during the encounter, the vessel directly confronted by ICC forces has been determined to be a transport vessel.

The other vessel spotted appears to have been roughly similar to a cruiser class vessel.

More information soon.

upon exploration of the area of contact by rescue ships, an ejected recording casing from a boarding craft was recovered. further search found the recording casing. The military is releasing very little information at this time, but its been confirmed that there were definately unidentified and unknown alien vessels in the area. the recording suggests the 2 ships were generally equal to a transport ship, and a supply ship.

More worrying reports - combat ships in Nicea have reported contact with pirate raider ships 2 days ago. The raiders have not been seen or heard from 2 months after ICC's first seperation from the UGTO and declaration of sovereignty. The ships ranged from light assault fighter to destroyer class and were harassing ICC transports and supplys in the region. luckily, a fully armed assault fleet was in the area, and obliterated the entire raider force. a second raider force appeared moments later and was similarily destroyed.

While reports of raider bases on the fringes of known space have existed for some time, none have been confirmed, and this is the first definate contact with pirates in an extended period of time. whether or not this was an entire raider fleet remains unclear, but ICC high command is warning all civilian and light military craft to be wary.

It would be kinda cool to have pirate worlds way out there and we could visit them if we chose to and fight them on their own turf... Or if they had some moons in some systems and maybe a few asteroid bases hanging around...

Well the history points out thats the first battle in space took place at an asteriod pirate base. So I think its a good idea.
