I was playing around near the ICC cluster today, and Lawman jumped me in what was either a MD or CC (the hull is different to the combat models).

He had god knows how many sabots, but it killed my FPS from 500~ to 30. Something needs to be done about this, you can stop them from equiping so many if you will, but with so many weapons on ships now, there are going to be some serious fps issues, doesnt matter if fighters are fixed or not now.

Some of the effects are particle hungry, and I notice 20-30 fps drops simply when my hull drops below 30 and my hull starts leaking plasma...Thats a serious drop, and considering some people only have 30 fps, and low end systems, not like me and my system.

Also, since I mentioned fighters...Whats going on with UGTO's ones? They seem considerably crap compaired to the ICC and K'luth ones. ICC ones fire tons of missiles, that almost always hit, and the Kluth ones hurt a lot, and fire a lot. Yet the UGTO version can only fire two missiles, and then it has to stop, plus the missiles hardly EVER hit. Compaired with the fact that fighter bases on planets make planets near impossible to cap (since dreads can hardly defend against them, let alone any other ships). I had to withdraw my EAD from battle because a station fired 8 at me. I dont know if anyone agree's with me, but fighters could be toned down quite a bit..

I've noticed that a lot of missiles/sabots and similar things produce a radical FPS drop for me as well. I mostly noticed it with fighters.

Its the fact that I have (probably) the best machine in the community, and if my machine cant cope with that much going on, then not a lot of peoples will me thinks..

Sad to say, my lowly laptop can barely handle release. In beta my game just stops in more than 5 ship combat. I get about .2 fps at best. Way to many graphics for my pos. Hope to get my better pc back soon.

ps. no I can not speed things up on this thing any more than it is...

My comp is a year old (AMD 3000+ and a 9600XT, 512 ram). DS release and beta always run smoothly. The only issue I get is the short lockup when selecting first ship upon entering the game.

However I see a lot of paying players are reporting either poor fps or crashing. Seems a significant chunk of the playerbase (the actives in any case).

I have a two-year old Hp, 2.8Ghtz, ATI Radeon 9200 w/ 128MB RAM, and the HD has 512DDR.

I run DS smoothly, except for that short 10 second delay when you select your first ship. Then low and behold, DS runs smoothly on max settings....
