I didn't play quite as much as many of you, but I did love this game when I was younger. Took me a while to find this game again. I'm glad the site is still up and I think the servers, too. Wish more people were still playing. :]
Edit: I installed it anyway. I saw that people still have fun playing solo.

Hi all o/
Well, I got an alert from my password manager stating there had been a security breach here (yikes) and that I needed to change my password (which I already did). My first reaction was "Uh, Darkspace.net? This rings a bell (!)"
How is this place still online after all these decades? xD
Also why is S.W forums locked? Was the fleet thrown to jail or what?
At least I won't be blamed for that for sure

I was back from the very start but deleted my first account in protest of an event involving my fleet mate Gigashadow. I came back a later. We were the Divine Order and known as the shadow brothers. I liked the older game play to the point where you collect parts from ship kills and mod your own or sell parts. Did play much after they scrapped that and nerfed ranks shifting available ships.

I was one of the many that got annoyed by the shutdown of Earth & Beyond back in 2004.
So I started looking for an online game (and off line too) that was similar to that game.
DarkSpace was one of them.
Unfortunately, from what I remember, it was not a good experience. I found the controls so different that I could not get to enjoy the game. And also I got bullied by other players because I was "disrupting their planning and game". They never told me though what I was doing wrong. I left the game soon after that, as I discovered EVE Online (which I still play, occasionally - I am no longer a game player as I was back then).
Recently I rediscovered DarkSpace, and wanted to see if my account was still alive, and if the game was still being played.
To my surprise, my account was still alive (though I had forgotten the PW, and had to reset it).
I do not know if I will start playing this game again (or try to), but I have not been able to get the client going, getting the "failed to connect to the GameCQ server" message every time. But I will try, again. I am curious now.

Yea im returing now i finally have a computer. but no worries you will see me around. retired now i have plenty of free time.. and one thing Bluejay my sister taught me was to be out flown out shiped out geared and out numbered and in the red zone, wasent a good position to be in unless you purposley put your self in harms way.

Ah yeah, we get a few random attempts at looking into our highly valuable information here. Dunno what happened to the SW forum, I'll just assume it was Doran because that usually works.
For anyone who might've missed it, we do have a discord for anyone who wants to see some of the other members of the community. We occasionally get to make fun of Doran there too!
