Great to hear it's more of a specialized ship and less of the omnipotent beast it used to be pre-nerf.

But those SIs hit very very hard.

It's definitely a station/dread sniper. More so for anti station work.
It'll be hard pressed to kill smaller ships.

I say, get your cruiser setups ready, folks. You're gonna need it in 1.7.

With the recent cloak changes to the energy drain, hunting K'luth dreads in cruisers might actually become a fun possibility. Cat and Mouse, Frigate v. nuclear sub style.

Yep. That would mean that K'Luth dreads would be wise to remember to grab some escorts along.

This.

It is likely the only dread I will have in my garage is a mandible to pop station lovers.

Likewise, I have found a turn/speed mod with one or two defense or weap mods tends to work well on the HC.

In addition most destroyers are now incredibly fragile, as if they were not before, one salvo of phoenix missiles hitting a destroyer is enough to blow it to kingdom come.

I've got a mod on my claw and scale that is similar to Borgie's, I watched him tear it up in his scale one day so I slightly copied it

I've got a scarab mod in the works for 1.7 and working on some for the beast new kluth dessies......just you wait.haha

.
..

Tested the new hive the other night:
It looks like it will still be the "anchor" of a fleet, given its reair field and its(more importantly) oh-so-valuable-to-kluth ECM array. It's narroband ECM has a range of 1150, and focused has a range of 2200. It is bristling with point defense and has powerful Assault rupters to hurt anything that gets too close, although an enemy torp dread will eat it for breakfast.

It can't maintain cloak for very long: Even with a massive negative sig, sitting completely still, it loses energy very quickly while cloaked.

There's something wrong with that. Are you sure you aren't getting hit with more missiles and just not being able to see them? If Destroyers really die that easily I don't see much use for them.

I did the math on it.

If they all hit simultaneously on the same arc, it only takes 6 Phoenix missiles to completely kill a Destroyer.

Is that a bad thing?

The dessies are supposed to dodge those missiles right? If the pilot is unaware of incoming missiles, or blunders into some, then it's his fault isn't it?

Unless it's been changed Phoenix are Destroyer grade missiles, and it's not exceedingly hard to hit same class ships with missiles especially when they stop being rendered due to too many projectiles in the area. I can see a Destroyer being taken out by a volley of Harpex from a Dreadnought, but a single volley of missiles from another Destroyer? Yeah, something seems wrong there.

Hmmm ok. Then that is a problem.
I thought we were talking about dread level missiles here.

But then again, I dunno. In a sorta twisted way, it does make missile ships actually viable or attractive to fly. Maybe not a single salvo to kill, but maybe two salvoes?
