I increased the size of planets and stars. I haven't managed to go around and fix the resulting compact clusters or planets eaten by stars, though. If you notice any or have map feedback in general, post it here.
Also post any feedback on the sizes themselves, and what you think of the difference.

Also, I already have the following list of planets to look at for their size relative to their system and/or cluster. However, if you have more suggestions or issues with clusters/systems in general, post.
Sizes listed on here are directions. If it says "smaller" it means it should be smaller, not that it is and needs to be embiggened.
Lastly, its just my quick notes, so don't expect brilliance.
_Barnards_
++Naul needs some spacing
Qyce looks strangely large, shrink a bit?
maurbon cluster - javin looks too large
veger - new model; uranus is distinct, so avoid
_lalande_
yahoo slightly smaller. medium?
vesper larger
griffen small
_eps car_
fachtna - smaller
kore - smaller
thetis 3 - smaller
_bd_
ooi - larger
_luyten_
dawn & necroph smaller or mycopia larger, or both
spacing
_proc_
14b -> medium
14c -> large
_dp_
ratana smaller
bellema spacing
_ind_
flavin bigger

Because we are dev's, and can do stuff like that?

when there is a planet with loads of pop that is the size of a station something it wrong. it adds a little more realism and also and this is the fun part for me.
it will make a difference what side of the planet you are on. it will take time for fleets to circumvent a planet in order to get to a target.

Because 1.5 is just sitting there and I have time on my hands. Which is the explanation for about half of the changes so far... this is what happens when you have devs who can't bug fix code worth beans but are quite able to add and change other content: while waiting for the programmer to clean up the code, we just sit around and add things.
Its all easily revertable if it turns out to be annoying. We've just long had mentions now and then, here and there about the size of ships vs planets.
Well, actually, the real impetus came from dinking around in the MV testing something when I noticed that zooming out a bit, all the stars disappeared really quickly. I was like "wait, shouldn't stars be rather large and noticeable?" so I figured I'd bump up their sizes slightly - some of the smaller stars were the size of some of the larger planets, which just seemed wrong.
Once I'd resized stars, I got to talking to the lobby about sizes, and there were comments about planets. So I figured.. it'd only take me two or three hours, lets see what they look like a bit bigger.
So now they are. If this seems like it works, or is better than the old sizes, then I'll worry about adjusting the maps to better hold larger planets. If they're annoying or ugly or stupid or dumb, then I can tweak or revert them.
Why not?

Something that sticks out like a sore thumb for me is the fact that Titan lacks a unique texture and type.
Because you know the fact that a moon with an atmposhpere is somehow barren strikes me as bizarre.

And that's exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for.
Not that I'll necessarily get right on fixing it, but its nice to know of glaring inconsistencies with reality, or just strangeness in the MV.
But.. if you don't mind, a bit more organization would be nice...
Planet: Titan
System: Sol
Problem: Barren planet, but actually has an atmosphere. Should get one, plus maybe its own texture.
Something like that. If you have an image, (at least in cases of Sol based planets/moons, since we might have sent a probe to it at some point) all the better. If not, I have a few textures lying around (Thanks Crim!) that I could slap onto a new planet.

STARS
---------
ingame | out of game
sol - yellow | yellow
Alpha Centarui A - Red| yellowish-white colour
Alpha Centuari B - Red| observed deeper orangish-yellow colour than the primary star (Alpha A)
Proc A - Yellow | White
Proc B - Red | White
Lalande - Red | Red
Banard's Star - Red (dwarf?)| Red Dwarf
Sirius - Looks blueish, tint of white | white main sequence star termed Sirius A, and a faint white dwarf termed Sirius B.
CD-36 - Red | Red Dwarf
Epsilion Indi - Yellow | ??? orbited by 2 brown dwarfs
Tau Ceti - Red | Yellow
Delta Pavonis - Yellow Turning Red | Yellow
---------
Ice planets are just a sheet of white. This is silly. Their should be cracks (black lines) and parts of it covered in water near the equator.

Ice planets closer to the sun then ocean planets.
Molten Planets far away frmo the sun.
Earth-type planets need to be within a certain distance of the sun based off illuminsicity and size. (for a "good" range of heat for known bacteria and other life forms to grow)

a small request, could you make a screenshot with you in a station orbitting a non altered planet and then another one when you are done with it.
should give a nice impression what the difference will be.

If your trying to create a 2D illusion to make something look 3D, otherwise, no, the textures wrap around spheres as they are.
