Water Giant

Only habitle gas giant ( the stuff that you need is there and a nice view to boot too...) Called big balls of fuel by space explorers.
Strutures can move around.
Strutures are 75% harder to bomb.
Almost always orbited by a ocean or terran moon.
Real example HD 2815 B.

Evaporating giant.

Gas giant with cometary tail.
Tail is made super heated dust and gas, will damage ships that come in contact with it.
K'luth Hull is 50% weaker than a human one in this.
Real example HS 209458 B 'Osiris'

is a bit implausable. Unless you were somehow invulnerable to the immense gravity of a giant planet. I suppose you would still float on water, just you would be spread out to few atoms thick. not nice.

Erm think bespin. You live in the upper to middle part of the atmosphere where gravity is at human okay levels. Remeber gas giants have huge atmosheres.

I like the idea of the New Gas gaint including the liveable one, The idea behind that might in time alow sediments to live within the atomoshpares of other gas giants suspended within there upper limites of the autmospheres.

I would ALSO like to see a incress or decress of the avable spots for sturecters to be places on a planet. And also certain buildings take up more than one grid IE the shipyard, I my mind that should take up four girds square, and the resuerch should take up to three depending on the level or the base. Also the same with Defence bases and fighter bases that way. there will be One beam per grid that the defence base takes up and two will shoot at ships. Were as the fighter bases On fighter will scramble from each grid that depends on the base lvl. The bigger the planet the more room it has for buildings and more room for the added idea os more than on grid buildings. Just and ideal.

List of grid space depending on the size of grids needed.

Dome2: = 2 A new done that Provides +20 Population at -5 power

Automated Hydro Farm: = 1 [ does not need addion buildings for workers]

Variance Generator: = 3
ALL Mines: = 1 Most of it moves underground thus does not take up room on planet surface.
Research Lab: = 1
Subspace Network: = 2

Barracks: = 1
Starport: = 1
Shipyard: = 4
Defense Base I: = 1
Defense Base II = 2
Defense Base III: = 3
Fighter Bases I: = 1
Fighter Bases II: = 2
Fighter Bases III: = 3
Sensor Base: = 1
Anti-Sensor Base: = 1
Interdictor Base: = 2
Depot: = 1

NOTE this is just an ideal and not something that i think will happen! Please If you have NOTHING GOOD to say about this ideal then DO NOT POST IT. please and thanks.
