Does anyone remember Diaspora it is the game that lead me towards Darkspace

it was a game very similar to DS that it was a faction based space battle over control of the planets and the systems they reside in there was planet defence etc and huge scale wars it eventually was shut down but then soon after the game and its code was then used to create a diaspora clone called rillaspora both of these had many features that may be a wonderful way to help fuel some more ideas for future DS updates i was hoping that we could even possibly go as far as use some of there models as inspiration for new technology, factions and ship models, not to mention a wonderful method of earning resources for building ships, each planet had its many different types of resources with a buy and sell price and u would make money by finding a planet with an abundance of a certain resource then trading it to a planet that is in demand of it to make a large profit these prices changed hourly so new trade routes had to established constantly meaning that it couldnt be abused nor could a team wait for innocent resource carriers along there trade route and ambush them.

ill try find some resources from Diaspora and rillaspora to show u all these games are both opensource now assuming u can find it, If not its copyrights have expired however morally it would be wrong to steal there work but legally there is no issue im against stealing there hard work personally but using it as a means for new inspiration is what im hoping for.

Upon looking for Diaspora images etc i found that they may be remaking it 3D assuming its the same Developers/owner and not just someone stealing their name anyways here a link with a video of their work in progress Looks very DS
