Server UPS problem... - Posted on December 10th, 2005 - 11:50 by Faustus
Due to a UPS problem, one of our primary servers went down this morning. The time and date on this server got reset to an incorrect value. This caused the subscription system to email many players informing them that their subscription had ended.
We have already addressed the incorrect date on the server; feel assured that any billing issues will be resolved immediately.
A Note for New Players... - Posted on November 27th, 2005 - 20:01 by Doran
This pertains to all new or returning players that are experiencing GCQL crashes when trying to join a server: You must press the red Update button at the top of your lobby window before you can play the game properly.
In case you missed it, there is also a notification in the the DarkSpace MOTD that is displayed every time you log in:
"- IMPORTANT: Version 1.483 has been released, you MUST press the "UPDATE" button at the top of the lobby to properly update DarkSpace."
The downloadable DarkSpace Client is not the most current version, therefore you must update to be able to play. Pressing Update will ensure that you have the latest game files and will also download any that may be missing.
Good hunting, and welcome (back?) to DarkSpace!

Core Weapon/JumpDrive Swapping - Posted on August 30th, 2005 - 17:36 by Doran
Many people have for a while been using their cargo holds as extra gun points or extra jumpdrives by transporting already recharged and loaded weaponry and jumpdrvies/wormhole devices which could then be swapped with used devices for faster recharge/refire rates. This is a clear violation of RoC section 3.3.h and therefore will be dealt with accordingly, including but not limited to, kicks and partial stat wipes. Any players whom find people using this exploit are directed to get multiple screenshots and /report these incidents. Notifying the offender is not necessary, screenshots can be filed to community@palestar.com or any staff member in the lobby.
A full explanation and details can be found in this forum topic.
Illegally Modded Ships Exploit - Posted on August 10th, 2005 - 21:27 by Shigernafy
As of late, a new exploit has come to the attention of the staff of the DarkSpace community. Intentionally modding a ship to gain extra slots that the ship was not intended to have, or using a ship when said modding occurs is exploitation of the game system. As such, anyone caught using such ships will be dealt with severly and swiftly, as per the Rules of Conduct. Further details can be found in this forum topic.
