Hi all,

I have the game installed on my works computer but unfortunately only have linux on my home computer. I was wondering if there are any plans to create a linux version of the game?

Also I would like contribute to the game but not really sure where to begin. I had a look at the files and boy is there a lot of them. Is there a guide I can read? Would I be able to help if I only have linux? I know C, bash and a bit of C++ and some FORTH as well.

Much love

there are no current plans for a linux client.
you may have some degree of sucess with getting gcql to launch under wine, but probably not the game client.

as for the other half, github page and discord

It's certainly possible to port to Linux, I already ported all the servers over to Linux a few years back..

Everything platform specific is already abstracted.. You'll need to implement concrete implementation of those system in Linux (e.g. Display, Audio, and System).

There is also the issue of GCQL not working due to requiring extremely old libraries and MFC versions. You would probably be better off writing a new launcher that just gets a list of active servers and then passes on the connect and username/password as launch argument to bypass that however.

Thanks for all the responses, I will be sure to drop into the discord channel when I get time (unfortunately work tends to keep me quite busy).
