I have gotten a few emails with questions and have responded back however there is one email that I would like to share with the public as it pertains to everyone.

Question: What precisely is defined as an event? I notice for
instance that the "list of upcoming events" always has developer meeting in it
however, I am going to guess this is not the same thing as what you are
referring to. Is an event a set of unusual circumstances? Such as pirates or MI
appearing in a system outside of rogens rift and procyon?


Answer: Events can range from a number of things that do not involve the Event Team such as... Developer meetings, Staff meetings, Talk like a pirate day, etc..... Things that would involve the Event Team are any ideas that are discussed and planned in our Event Organisation forum (Only Event Team members have access to this) So your assumption was correct.

Question: Will the staff be called on often or is it simply a position
that needs to be filled in order to host future events because there is a lack
of staff at the moment?


Answer: Events and Staff (Admins, Moderators, Developers, Editors) are apples and oranges. One has nothing to do with the other, for those of you who do not understand fruit The Event Team members have their own forum and we throw ideas around and do our planning there. All Event ideas get their final approval by me then they get passed onto Doran or Jack for scheduling. We do not need more members on the Event Staff however, I would like to enlist a few more because a few of the members have become inactive.

Question: Do the event staff have to be on at specific times and places
and if so what type of notice might they expect?


Answer: If there is a Event Team meeting scheduled then yes I would like to have as much participation as possible and that will be scheduled in advance keeping in mind the different time zones people live in. Most of the Event Team discussion though is done through forum conversations. Like any other of our staff meetings I will give a 1-2 week advanced notice of such a meeting. The same goes for a scheduled event, generally 1-2 week notice.

i whould like to try for it events on a regauler bases may help player base like random hold the planet events at certien times or siege of a random planet

Can you publish an old event planning, discussion (or something like that) so that people have idea of what they should do in event team?

Example works great in most of the time.

Not really,

That is like you asking me to make public our Private Staff Discussion. Also, most of the Event Team members do not want their names publisized mostly because they do not want to be inundated with questions, comments, etc.... Staff are different because it is a staff position with Palestar the Event Team is a volunteer program seperate from that.

I can tell you the basic steps:

Scheduling


If you want examples of Events just look on the Events forum and check them out. Otherwise use your imagination I suppose.
