Post tips to help the Newer players integrate into our 'unique' community

Topic changed after about the third post but thats ok

TIP #1 Use at least one CAPITAL letter in your name!!!

In all the time ive played this game nothing screams "ive probably been playing this for less than a year or two" louder than an uncapitalized name. You can capitalize just the first letter, every other letter, the last letter, anything. When I type I dont capitalize half of the letters i should but for the love of god throw some capital letters into that name of yours.

Having a capital letter at the beginning of your name is one thing, but HaViNg A nAmE lIkE tHiS just screams "lamer" and many people won't take you seriously. Hell, I know I wouldn't

lol wut? we need a capital letter? hows that relating to experience?

#1 dont take things to seriously in the game
#2 in the beginning you will probably die a lot, just keep trying, we all been there
#3 Doran da man!
#4 if you rlly having difficulty with something u can always ask, just not always someone will answer, simply for the reason they are to tired to type all the text for the answer. try rephrasing ur question so that a simple yes or no will suffice

You dont need one but I dont think you find many people who have been playing the game since before 2007-8 at the latest who dont capitalize their own name

maybe education focues more on capital letters then and SMS language killed proper grammar for all the new people, hence by capital letters u can make up the time of education thus age maybe, but age doesnt linearly connect to experience in the game

in my case i dont use capital so that i have 2x the same d, as a sort of letterrhime. to elleborate with an example of letter rhime: how much woowd would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood.

where w and ch are the letter rhimes

but i guess you have a point, on closer look most names are capitalized and the ones that arent are relatively new. just i dont think an advice to a new person would be: capitalize your name...more like: try to bob and weave to dodge, use shield rotation as icc, watch energy as luth, dont rush into battle cause the enemies will all stop fighting and focuse on you for ugto.

Well I dont expect everyone to agree with me but just dont get off topic.

Please post your tips for being in the >>Community<< ie shoulds and should nots that apply outside of the game itself.

One thing i was told as a young padawan was that if you are in orbit always point away from the planet so for example if luth suddenly appear you can Ejump out the way

Always keep moving. The only time you shouldn't be moving is if:
-You're in orbit of a planet deep into safe space.
-You're a space station.
-You're a dread in close proximity to a space station and/or other dreads.

Any other time, keep moving, at a decent speed if possible. It allows you to move and dodge incoming fire, and put distance between you and whoever decides to jump you or decloak near you.

Trying to keep these forums on topic is a futile effort, so show me where this thread will go!

*Do your best to keep the enemy you are fighting between your self and the enemies you don't want to be fighting. The best kind of damage is when you get your enemies team mates shooting his rump when you are plowing through the front.

*When fighting around planets and trying to buy time for your cloak or jumpdrive you can swing around the planet to stay out of the mass's line of fire.

when k'luth are around(even when you're next to a stat)....keep moving!
you don't have to move at full speed. just move around a bit and don't sit still.

When in the heat of battle and your taking damage, jump early! Even if you think you can survive jsut a bit longer, dont risk it, just jump out.
You see, there is a slight delay till your computer is updated with damage on your ship.

So,, you could be dead and not know it yet! Many players die mid jump because of this.

Jump early!

Plus one on this.

Though I prefer to be plowing through his (her, preferably ) ass while his friends punch him in the face in panic.

Because of how the auto aiming system works in darkspace, always have a changing velocity when in combat. Even the smallest wiggles can throw off shots at longer ranges.
