Right present it is possible to construct two structures simultaneously by doing the following, and having two build slots:
1) Opt to build a structure
2) Disable ALL drones
3) Build a new structure
4) Disable one drone
5) Set disabled strone to other structure
Unless this is unintended, and I don't see how, would it be possible to make this process less tedious by permitting one to construct a new structure so long as at least one drone is available? If I just disable one drone at step 2, I cannot proceed to step 3 until I disable the other, which is a bit silly.

Just disable the first drone, it's like the one in charge.
The second drone is actually unable to build anything from scratch.

You know, to be honest, I don't like how much building is limited right now.
I think you should build as many buildings at once as you like, but your drones are "split" between them all.
That way, yes, you could build 20 buildings at once, but it will just take as much time as if you tried to build it one at a time.

Would like to at least place 0% "foundations" that you can put down for AI and player engineers to work on.
Right now I just assign a number to my drones (usually 1) and rapidly start and stop building a bunch of buildings to do the initial layout.
I kinda think that the resources for those buildings should be consumed gradually, and not all be required up front, though.
This would also mean that it would take resources to repair a damaged structure.

Like how a SS repair field is suppose to switch between what ship it's repairing every second? Sounds like a good idea to me.
