The question requires reader to pick a solution; the answer can not be simply 'yes' or 'no'

Deathbeam can terminate UGTO EAD in any case and all MI ships have deathbeam. So far, MI has only activated deathbeam when targeting planets because MI reads deathbeam as a bomb gadget. Removing the ability to damage planet will definitely turn this gadget into a pure weapon gadget. As a result, sudden-death-on-impact is the destiny for who engages MI. For this reason, I vote for removing Deathbeam entirely from MI.

+1 on this. on a more personal note, i would only like to see it get weakened, where it still gives a challenge and isnt as annoying.
