We all have noticed that when a new version is released, for a few days everyone flocks back to the game and there is a buzz of MV activity for a few days.

Therefore lets release a new version of DS every week so every week we may experience this MV population burst.

I dunno, if Doran says so it must be true. Time for the dev team to make like they're eating pistachios and get crackin'.

Why don't you ask players why they don't keep playing?
Ask around, see why they only come to see whats new and then leave.

btw, I did make a suggestion on having support for community authored modifications. Basically, DS could have many styles of gameplay on different servers, and players would generally flock to the highest rated/most fun with the most playing it.

It would not be a trivial task, and the community is too small for it to make much sense. Some would argue that it would split everyone up.

On the other hand, it could renew interest in the game, and keep new players around for longer.

I don't know what the legal implications of having mods themed off of Star trek or Star wars, or Homeworld, or some other thing would be, but it could certainly get the attention of a lot of folks.

problem with something like that is you need servers to run these "mods". I don't think DS have the hardware to do something like that as cool as it would be.

Not happening. The community is too small to be further split up.

And besides, licensing for those mods ain't gonna be cheap. And this is a free game... Where's the $ gonna come from?

Are you certain that the community would split up? If it shows how many are playing, I'm sure most would all gather up in one server.

As for the licensing, since this is a free game, do you think we would be hassled for it? I've seen many games that had modifications based on a franchise, and nothing ever happened.
If there was a cease and desist for some reason, it was dealt with promptly without any legal action.
