it seems that when i try stealth bombing with my bomber frig, a player will always kill me due to the rings shooting out of my ECMs. Is it possible to stop this so that non-luth stealth is practical?

They greatly nerfed ECM due to those one-man-ninja BFs and a certain ICC cruiser doing the same thing... It's also made stealth vettes a lot harder to use... There's also now several different ECMs to play with (honestly, I'm just sticking with the normal ones)

EDIT: Misread.... that tactic is called blind fire, commonly used against cloaked ships (esp. stats because they can't dodge) and ECM ships... don't stand still with ECM on, an experienced player could just send a missile or cannon salvo and just vaporise you...

edit of the edit: they are one step ahead of you.... from dev log
* Ship trails are no longer visible past 500 gu. This was done to stop a exploit.

the exploit they are stopping is tracking people by folowing their trails. (i think)

they could also be using the new ECCM for long range while not powerful it might be enough to detect ships

Actually there may be a problem still with ECCM/ECM.

This patch was supposed to eliminate pinging. But apparently you can still ping for cloaked ships.

Plus.. ECM while in cloak seems to make cloaked ships detectable. God knows if while you're using ECM, your sig is fluctuating (it does when I'm cloaked) so that it is actually making you more visible, rather than less visible.

check ur system dmg, usually that holds a clue....i havent noticed much problems. indeed a cloak bug but when i looked closely my cloaking device was 10% dmged, that explained the signal of 0,9/1,5 switchin every millisec or so

No damage. Full health and energy in OOC mode with the white rings.

Approaching an enemy planet with a few AI combatants in orbit. The moment I hit the ECM, they all began shooting at me.

ECM has been nerfed so hard that even a squad of ships with heavy ECM cover can be revealed by a single ECCM device.

Also, once you get like 50-100gu's away from a target, no matter how negative its signature is, you can still target.

So if you're flying a scout at the negative sig and get close, don't be surprised when they get a lock on you and blow you to bits.

IMHO, shipboard ECM strength be equal to shipboard ECCM strength. This will equalize battles in space.

However planetary ECM/ECCM shd be quadruple of shipboard EW device strength in strength and range. But they shd be limited to 1 installation max. This will help the defenders at their planets without it being too OP when undefended.

Next the number of EW devices on ships shd be readjusted.

Just my thoughts.

How do you suppose the numbers should be adjusted?

Maybe EWAR should take a new role entirely, such as having signature alter missile tracking.

Targets with a low signature would be hard for a missile to track, while targets with a high sig would be tracked much more accurately.

Target gets beaconed, missiles track with deadly accuracy.
K'luth gets beaconed, any launched missiles that were locked onto them will continue to track.

Stilll not 100% accuracy? Just a very high chance? Also that needs more than 1 player (just a fact* ((*or an opinion, idk)), not a complaint).
