I guess there is fault in Netgear/LinkSys driver layer, which cause damage in DS network commucation ... but why is result so low level (crashes, OS hangups, OS Bsod), maybe it's directly problematic hardware ... no idea...this question is better ask to manufacturer of these cards.

obviously you don't understand.
It's PURE luck that you don't have problems with other applications/games.
if your hardware doesnt work correctly in certain situations it's a hardware problem.
not a software problem just because software uses the hardare in such a way that it doesnt work correctly.
again: it's pure luck tht it only shows up in DS.

I've had the same annoying problem with connections. Before the 1.4 update, I isolated the problem to the router that my W2K server runs though. It is a D-Link DI-804. I had the same issues with connecting that everybody else is having. When I removed my router, and connected straight into the DSL modem. I was able to connect successfully and a bit faster. I hooked the router back up and I opened up ports 8000-10000. The game then worked fine enough. Then 1.4 happend. Without any changes, I now cannot connect with the router in the chain. Have you guys looked at that maybe it is a PPOE issue? Just a shot in the dark really. I hope you fix this soon. I just paid the $10 membership.

Seems to be working fine now with the router in place. Looks like you might have squashed this bug for my system. Thanks
