I decided to rip out Orbiter again and try her out. As soon as i got the basic hang of things i stright away pointed towards the moon. Flying in Space is like nothing like flying on Earth or in games like Darkspace. In the shots are a few familer names.

Where i ended up, can you guess the planets in the background?

Bugger, lost and with no fuel. lol

You can download orbiter 2010 from here: http://www.download-free-games.com/freeware_games/orbiter.htm

I also recommend The Deltaglider IV-2 which has a better Autopilot and 2d panel. Just type that in in google and it should be on 'Dan orbiter page' or something like that.

I've played another game with realistic space flight called Vegastrike.
(it's in beta so it still has a few issues, ships lacking meshes and plans to add more ships) and..... do you like bananas?

Edit: decided I might as well throw you a link http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/

edit of the edit: and a brief description; its an open-plan space game sort of like Freelancer. You can do missions, trade, hunt pirates or even become a pirate yourself
