Is it within game laws to be able to tractor enemy platforms out of their orbit and into a planet? I've just been playing with someone on the Scenario Server and had a guy do it to me 3 times, leaving a planet defenceless and thus he was able to capture it. Have screenshots as proof.

If it is allowed, gotta be said, just one more lame tactic to add to peoples skill list.

it is lame tactic

it is allowed (more properly, 'not' disallowed)

it emphasizes why platforms shouldnt be positioned too close to a planet

it also emphasizes the need of weapon platforms, as they can damage and destroy the small utility ships which can use tractor beams

it can be countered by building an interdictor on the planet, using anti-ship bases to critically damage agile utility ships, building platforms at some distance from planet, building many many weapon platforms to effectively pummel enemy, and most easy - ordering ships to defend platforms.

alternatively, you can choose not to build platforms. do note, that players who make an effort to tractor platforms are sacrificing a part of their precious time.

good luck at making the enemy work hard for less gain.

[TK] Talien, just to name and shame him. Later brought out a dread in a one v one game, then spammed planets with infantry to cap while I had to keep playing catchup rest of the game.

Guy needs to grow a pair and venture into the Metaverse.

Talien is one of the players who will not attack you while your in an engineer or extractor.
There a much worse enemy who will harass you early while building or nonstop capture..

Maybe you should focus on building your Shipyard and Mining Planets to get out your best ship asap, instead of building platforms.

If you realy just want to win the map you can build masive Barrack planets
and transport rush the flag planets all day.
But isnt it more fun to get out your MD fast, since your already Vice Admiral?

It's a war game, not a lets be friends game.

The objective is to stop the enemy from winning by doing anything allowed by the RoC.

Hadn't played for over 6 months, hense trying to get back into the game slowly on a Scen Server.

As for the platforms, they were there only because he'd already started attacking me whilst I was engi. Within around the first 20 mins. So guess you're confusing him with someone with a sense of honour, not this guy.

talien is a great player and one of the best cruiser pilots I have ever seen. It's called a war game for a reason nothing in the ROC states you can't do what he did.

Once in scen there was a guy who kept shouting that attacking extractors/engis when they asked you to leave them alone was against the RoC.

Players can attack whomever they please (as long as it's within the Rules of Conduct, ie : no friendly fire).

The only exception to this rule is when we do testing in beta and may require specific rules to test whatever needs testing.

Tractoring platforms into the planet is fine.
