im a light armor, sneak archer.
im level 20 now.. and fighting dragons is near impossible... i have to consume 100lbs of potions every dragon. (maby should have put more skill points on magic or something...)

Yes, but you are one puny human, and even though you have to drink a lot of potions, you CAN beat that dragon!
Think of a fire-breathing son of a lizard the size of a shed entering your garden, see how you fare against it
Yours sincerely,
Demigan.

Level 27 Argonian, mainly uses one handed, sneak, light armor, smithing, and a little bit of block. The only thing that scares me is magic...flawless glass armor does nothing vs magic damage. D:

I just got bit by a dragon and died instantly... I was very slightly wounded, so it must have done 150-180 damage in one strike.
Anyhow, I'm thinking magic is the way to go, no need for potion chugging
Say, is there a way to have multiple games? I wanted to try specializing in heavy armor, shields, one handed, on a different character.

Bought it yesterday, level 11 imperial mage with a hint of archer, i'm bored with it already. I like the open world sandbox playstyle, but there's just not enough scripted stuff going on to keep me engaged, once a plot or quest is over I feel like, meh, i should just go chop some wood or something, there's very little impetus to do anything. (maybe because there is so much to do?)

Wut
This probably has more scripted events then any other game, you just have to go look for it.

You can have multiple save files so yeah you can have mutiple games. just make sure that you don't save over all of your old files.
lvl 40+ Dark Elf here. I haven't put a point toward magic at all yet and I do just fine. I focus almost completely on sneaking and archery. Smithing is high also. Being able to make your weapons Legendary is a big help. I believe that is the highest lvl you can upgrade weapons and armor to. My bow is powerful enough to one-hit kill a giant.
For you guys that are having trouble against dragons I would advise you to buy enchanted or enchant your own armor.
We have found mutiple glitches in the game but certainly nothing to stop us from playing it.

crushing your dragon enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women. also horses with better vertical climb than a F22 raptor, putting bukkits on peoples heads then stealing their stuff, and scenery porn.

I'd rather have things handed to me neat and cleanly, I hate walking around a giant map "looking" for stuff. It's a game, I want to play, not walk around for hours.

(1.) dont forget, once you have alchemy on max, you can make good fortify enchanting-potions boosting your enchant-quality
(2.) with max (+boosted) enchanting-skill you can enchant your armor with fortify alchemy boosting your potion-quality
(3.) goto 1. (till youre bored, then goto 4.)
(4.) make insane fortify Smithing potions & insane fortify Smithing enchants
(5.) improve weapons & armor
(6.) oneshot elder-dragons on highest difficulty
(you can get your Smithing-skill to 600+ this way for aprox 120 extra dmg on onehanded weapons)
