Audio

Built-in Harman/Kardon stereo speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio and Waves MaxxAudio 3 enhancements
1 USB 3.0 port for ultra-fast data transfer (with USB Sleep and Charge) offering up to 10x the speed of USB 2.0 (and is backward compatible with your USB 2.0 peripherals). Download a 25 GB HD movie in just 70 seconds.
3 USB 2.0 ports
HDMI high-definition audio/video output allows a single cable to transmit uncompressed high-definition video to your compatible digital TV or external monitor.
VGA video output (analog, RGB)
Microphone and headphone jacks
Multi-format memory card reader compatible with Secure Digital (SD), Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC), Secure Digital eXtended Capacity (SDXC), Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Multi Media Card, xD Picture Card (shared slot; may require adapter for use)
Fast Ethernet (10/100)

These are the specifications. please reply with your comments and if you can possibly offer me a better laptop for under $850 please do so. Thank you for your time in advance.

Sorry i havent been on very much but it hasnt been possible without a computer

This is typically bad. I don't know enough about the new generation of these but they're typically not very good, and you have to be realistic with what you can do for gaming. DarkSpace will run just fine, but I don't know what your expectations for other games are. With that in mind, the rest of the specifications seem to be pretty solid, so long as you're aware of what running a laptop at max efficiency is (heat issues, low battery life, etc)

thanks fo the reply and i am aware of things like heat issues and battery life. my laptop never strays far from its plug in and ive never had a heating issue with a toshiba laptop. also this laptop had some very good reviews on it. i would have put more details in but ive typed out the whole thing on my small pantech phone soo its taken me awhile just to post those specifications. thanks again for the reply though.

one thing I must ask before I suggest anything is what are your expectations for your new laptop(School,Gaming, Video editing etc). That helps narrow down what you are looking for

Any of the recent AMD laptops will come with an APU (a CPU + GPU on-die) and a dedicated GPU, which can pump enough frames to run Crysis 2 on low/medium due to the fact it can run the APU and dedicated GPU in Crossfire.

They are the best low/medium range laptops you can get at the moment for gaming BAR-NON.

Look for a Llano based AMD laptop ( links to all the processors in the Llano line: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Fusion#.22Llano.22_.2832.C2.A0nm.29 ).

I even took the trouble of finding one for you on Newegg, some decent (read: amazing) reviews, but you get one of the highest-end gaming APU's with a dedicated mobility GPU, which means you can run Crossfire.

Yes, but Red wants a laptop, not a desktop.

most of those systems are all re-branded sagers/clevo's which performance wise are equal to alienware but usually much cheaper. The thing about these more expensive laptops is that if you are tech savy, you can easily upgrade the GPU after new stuff comes out. This can save a bunch of money

if you want to go the desktop replacement route, you can also check out http://www.xoticpc.com/ for good prices on Asus, MSI and Clevo laptops.

Uh, pretty sure Falcon NW, Origin and Maingear aren't just a re-branded' anything... Not that any of them fall in the $800 range anyway.

/edit/ (Man this post was mucked up)

U don't really need to worry about the brand or make of the laptop.
HP, Dell, Acer, LG, Falcon-Northwest, Alienware. Just badges. They work the same way. All made in China or Taiwan.

The most important things are the processor and the graphics.
Everything else they shout out about is usually marketing fluff.

CPU: Intel Core i5 or i7.
Graphics: nV GTX 5xx series (preferable 560 and above) or AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5xxx

Those companies don't custom build there own machines, they get the chassis from sager, and then custom build the rest hence they all have very similar specs on all their machines. Pre-dell-alienware was also made of these same laptops They all do their own thing when it comes to desktops though, sorry for getting off track but I wanted to rectify this issue
