I got a great idea. Lets just chang everything in DS all ships will only have 1 foward fireing weapon. But it will be a Big Giant Gun that kills everyhting in one shot. Wouldnt that be fun. no need to worry about shields or armour or cloak. Because everybody is equal. Yeah and sations will have two guns so they can spin around and kill everything. But when the beams cross it will cause a rip in the space time continuum killing everyone in the MV that way everyone wins. 
Let DS be. It fine.

i think DS weapons are fine as is, but would be a nice event though that could last for a couple of hours or so.

thats the noobiest, most childish idea ive ever read,
on a serious note, that idea has multiple issues that each of which would be enough reason to say no.
1: darkspace isnt that kind of game,
doing something like that would utterly destroy any kind of tactical gameplay and skill required whatsoever. it will basically make the game perfect for noobs.
2: players would hate it.
i, as well as any other players of darkspace, have been playing for years, and as i see it, any kind of instagib weapon like that or of other kind of instagib, would simply destroy the game in its entirety, some of us like it how it is, minus some details.
3: the "Crisscrossing beams" deal would have serious compatability issues.
if something were to kill everything on a server, including all the ai, players, planet structures, etc, i dont think any kind of server would be able to handle such a massive lag spike.
