I tried wasp hoards a while ago, and not only did they do pitiful damage, they also only fired 1 round of bombs. After that they'd continue to circle and make their attack runs, but no more bombs.
Just not worth using now.

Same with B27's. I remember how you could use an Agincourt fitted out with them to help take over planets. They are useless nowadays though, even those found on stations.

One thing about fighters....
I believe that PD effectiveness against fighters should be reduced.
Maybe halved.
As it is, fighters take a stupidly long time between launches. So that limits the fighter swarm (prob due to server loads). Their firepower is woefully weak, and they're easily taken out. Any beam ship will make short work of fighters.
What needs to happen is to reduce PD effectiveness on fighters across the board. By a lot! This will make carriers more viable without need to increase the number of fighters in the air, or to adjust their firepower.
Also, the reload/recharge for fighterbays should be shortened.

The "invisible" fighters and missiles should hopefully be fixed first, it's a huge pain when they're being spammed so much on both sides of a battle that they just stop showing, you can't PD them but they still damage you. No it's not because they have low sig, doesn't matter how much ECCM you run they just plain don't show.
