I was wondering if there is any way to make it so we can select what sound we want lowered and not just all of them controlled together.

You see I tried to lower the volume so the missle and fighter allerts dont blow out my eardrum when it goes off. I zoom in and I can hear my engines, missles lauch, torps, IC and beams when I shoot them off.

I zoom out thinking it will help but it doesnt.... in fact the missle/fighter allert is all i hear then....

then when I zoon in I hear everything but the Missle/fighter alert ovewhelms regardless....

I simply would like to be able to tone down the missle/fighter alert so that I can hear the rest of the sound effects.

Let me know if this can be done if not just lower it from your end or add some controll to select which effects get adjusted by the user

thank you

The missle/fighter alert does seem a little too loud. It's scared the crap out of me a few times before. It can be painful when I'm on TS with the volume up relitivly high, and I still want to be able to hear other sounds from the game clearly at the same time.

I agree- the fighter/missile alert and the QST detonation are the loudest and they prevent me from turning up the volume to hear other things...

I think the main problem with some of the louder sounds is that they're all additive, so if a MD fires off a salvo inside sensor range, your computer is playing a dozen BEEPs all at once, making it seem rather loud. I don't think the actual effect is louder than any other (or not much); its just the fact that they're often being heard multiple times simultaneously.

That said, individual volume controls for types of warnings is probably not going to happen soon, but I could try to turn down some of the chirpy-er sounds just to make addition of them less obnoxious.
