I know I'm not the only person to accidentally delete the wrong ship and lose enhancements. Would it be possible to add a toggle to each garage slot to prevent the ship in it from being deleted until it's turned off?

There's already a confirmation requirement... how are you clicking twice accidentally?

If you have 2 of the same ship in your garage or multiple ships that start with the same word (I.E. Assault Frigate/Assault Cruiser/Assault Dreadnought) it's not that hard to click the wrong one, especially if you're half asleep.

Allow us to rename our ships.

So when you toggle a ship it can't be deleted unless the toggle comes off? Sorry, I'm half asleep atm.

The problem with any sort of confirmation system is, ship deletion becomes habitual. Unfortunately this means that no matter what measures are put in place, you will end up deleting a ship or two when you don't want to, this mistake is yours alone. The game has a confirmation in place, you bypassed it with a habitual doubleclick on the remove button.

With a lock system you wouldn't be locking frequently deleted ships, like for example an extractor, engi, frig, etc. You would lock valuable ships that you didn't want to delete anyways.

Since the confirmation system only applies to some ships, it does not become habitual to bypass it.

Added a new Deletion option, you will require you to press delete 9 times!!

JOKE!

Seriously i already find the double click deletion annoying.
While what you suggest would be nice, how much benefit would it give us......

I will ask if instead of having to press delete twice, we could have something like the "invite to group" yes/no option for deleting of ships.

I WILL ASK ! OK? no guarantee that this will happen, but i will ask if we could be bothered to do this..

What a daft request. There's already a confirmation message. We're not going to babysit every single UI action you do.

"Are you sure you want to attack this target?"
"Are you sure you want to jump to this target?"
"Are you sure you want to turn left?"
"Are you sure you want to move the mouse?"

Common sense stopped being common a long time ago.

I deleted a full enchanceded ship once when i actualy wanted to delete some cargo, the REMOVE BUTTONS for ships and cargo look alike.

Ok now i am more carefull but since this happend to many people...it willl happen again, maybe the layout, the positioning of the buttons just needs a change.

edit: Nice feedback...gj

I agree with Peri.
The ship selection needs an arrangement improvement to avoid such mistake.
Right now, the layout is:
  • Cargo stuff
  • Buy, Remove
  • Launch, Remove, Cancel
  • Ships list
  • Ship description

it should be sorted:
  • Ships list
  • Launch, Remove, Cancel
  • Ship description
  • Cargo stuff
  • Buy, Remove
