The second ever event//contest//battle royale that lets YOU (or someone with 99% similar DNA), the player, design, name, and possibly get brutally murderated by a brand new Elite NPC!
We'll be selecting up to Six(6) new wannabe-Elites for inclusion in (or around) Sol, CD+36, and Sirius. Hell, we might even shoehorn a few into Sag (for all the agoraphobics of course). That's Two(count 'em, 2) each for UGTO, ICC, and The K'luth.

This is important, so read it more thoroughly than you've (n)ever read the RoC.
You may submit UP TO (and no more than) Three(3) wannabe-Elites. So pick two for UGTO and one for ICC, one for each faction, or any other combination of 3.
You will also need to supply the following listed information about the Elite, especially the stuff marked *REQUIRED*.
- *REQUIRED* Faction: This is so we know what team you want your Elite to be batting for.
- Rank: Elite's Rank may be from Cadet to Chief Marshal.
If a rank is not specified, one may(and probably will) be chosen at random and conferred upon promotion to Elite status.
- *REQUIRED* Name: I don't think I need to state how important a good name is. However, don't name the wannabe-Elite after yourself, another player, that guy that's always hanging out on the corner, your gerbil, GothThug, Goththug's gerbil "Claudius", Walmart shoppers....
- *REQUIRED* Biography: A SHORT blurb about the wannabe-Elite. Please keep this one between 140-200 characters, or else we're liable to start whacking words off, and that would look Elite starves on top of the preserving diner. Outside foolish groans a circumstance?
- Drop List: [READ THIS PART CAREFULLY] You may chose to include between One(1) and Eight(8) enhancements that the Elite might drop. No more than eight, but fewer is acceptable.
Please limit yourselves to 1 or 2 unique-level enhancements (this includes colored drive trails), and aim for a reasonably balanced mix of other types. If you're looking for a list of valid enhancements, I've provided a handy list. We may or may not draw up some new enhancements, but any such goodies will likely be randomly distributed.
If a drop list is not specified, enhancements may be chosen at random and equipped upon promotion to Elite status.
- *REQUIRED* Vessel Type -OR- Role: The type of ship the Elite will be flying or the role that the Elite will have.
- Ship Type may be selected from the current fleet lists, ie. Battle Station, Battle Station, Battle Station, Battle Station, Interdictor Cruiser, Support Station...
- Ship Role would be the functionality, ie. missile spammer, carrier, torp boat, long range, short range...
MUST provide at least a hull class (including support and utility classes, not just combat), in the event that only a role is given Fleet Command will direct quartermasters to select a suitable ship at random, or possibly even commission an entirely new class of ship.
- Publicity Photo: An image of the Elite commanding a ship befitting their rank and status. Artistic talent is not required, so MSPaint will suffice, but keep the images within 500*500px, and a 150kb file size.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of faction politics, promotions are liable to be highly subjective, rather than objective based on a specified set of merits.
From the available candidates, 6 will be chosen (again, 2 for UGTO, 2 for ICC and 2 for K'luth)
Fleet Command highly values creativity and variety, so more creative candidates will be preferred over ones who are more mundane.
50 Chief Marshals flying UGTO Support stations loaded with dictors and unique/advanced enhancements isn't very creative, regardless of how Super Cute Kawaii !!! it sounds on forums.
As it is said, those who do not learn from history are doomed to flunk and have to repeat the 5th grade, Fleet Command feels that their commanders should be well-schooled in historical events.
Upon approval and confirmation of Elite status, the candidates will be given a rank promotion, and will have their publicity photos issued the media. Due to overhauls and necessary dry dock time to properly equip ships (not to mention bureaucratic red-tape), and shake-down cruises, deployment of the newly-minted Elites to the fleet may be delayed by Two Weeks™. Fleet Command recognizes for having able commanders in the field and will attempt to expedite the process as much as possible.
While I could provide any number of name generators, the name of the game here is creativity, so doing so would be marginally self-defeating.
For anyone looking for a little extra inspiration, I would recommend perusing the DarkSpace History page and The Universe Today forum.
Contest will remain open for 2 Weeks from time of posting, or until such time as we feel we have an adequate pool of wannabe-Elites to choose from.

Biography:
In spite of his notability, Commander Frill is almost as mysterious as the rest of his colleages working in UGTO Naval Intelligence. Officially, there is no record of the Commander's history. Speculation suggests that Frill used to be a notable pirate and smuggler notorious for his abilities to evade detection both when evading patrols and when creeping up on an unsuspecting victim.
However, several years ago this notorious pirate vanished under mysterious circumstances and grim-faced Frill began patrolling the spaceways, spying upon potential enemies of the UGTO in a heavily-modified yet suspiciously familiar destroyer. Whether he was convinced or coerced - or even if he is the same person - is unknown.
What is known is that he is very good at sneaking into places containing things that others would prefer to keep hidden. And occasionally blowing them up.
The origins of the callsign "Frill" are similarly unknown, but rumour has it that it stems from an incident involving twelve kilograms of butter, an assault dreadnaught, and a pair of the UNI Director's undergarments.

Jordac Freeman had a rough childhood, after getting past living with his cheese addicted mother, and his drunken father, he joined the ICC. In his service, he was awarded the Medal of Valor for his work as an operative infiltrating the ranks of the UGTO, but this is not what Freeman truly desired. Freeman wanted a ship, he wanted his own command and his Commanding Officer didn't feel he was ready for such an undertaking. After an incident with his CO, where Freeman beat him to the point of being stuck in a wheelchair, he was Court-Marshalled and banished from ICC territory.
He rejoined the UGTO, but this time, not as a spy. He disclosed information that he learned during his services, explaining that he had taken the liberty to join the ranks of the ICC to gather Intel. His duplicity paid off, and Freeman was given his first command. Freeman commanded the UGTO Assault Corvette, "Avenger" up until he was promoted to the rank of Admiral. He then took command of the UGTO Battle Dreadnought, "Ticonderoga" where he commanded for 4 years working his way up to the rank of Marshal. He was recently appointed commander of the UGTO's latest flagship, the "Leviathan I" Elite Assault Dreadnought. Freeman is now well known as one of the fiercest commanders in the UGTO, and not one to be trifled with.

[Biography]
He was hatched on the Terran equivalent of 25 November, 2245 and was raised on Keja, the homeworld. As he grew up he won many challenges from his peers and also excelled academically. By the time he reached 15, the military called him into service. 1 STY later, he was given his first command, at the rank Commander, and was tasked to fight the Kraddax. He won many battles but not enough. Soon the K'luth were forced to retreat to the Milkyway but, he stayed behind with the 10th and 11th Fleet however shortly took command when his CO died, earning him promotion to 1st Rear Admiral. The victories allowed the transports to make it safely and when he arrived he was a celebrated warrior, being promoted once more to Fleet Admiral. Now he is here to continue his work, to defend the K’luth and ensure it’s growth.

Lost several months ago, only the exoskeletal structure remains of the former UGTO ship. Call signs and the entire interior have been replaced with MI hardware, reactors, and tactical computers, and they are often sighted intercepting and/or exterminating small/medium fleets the inspire fear.
