O.K.
Im running a pentium celery 1.8 ghz
She has 1gb of ram
The graphics is an awesome onboard Intel R 82845g(latest driver came out in 2004-5)
Windows xp HE
Ok than right
Well Ive dled ds and have run setup, when i try too start the game it fails too initialize display. I guess my question is will this ancient machine play DS, I dont even know how much ram is in the video im guessing 4mbs?

If you can get it to run at all it may very well still be choppy even at the absolute lowest settings. I'd recommend at the very least getting another 1-2 GB ram if you want to play, and most likely a better video card.

The basic specs are all fine to play. as said above it won't run on max settings, medium or Low is preferred.
The only thing that might be a drawback would indeed be the graphics card.
Having 1gb of memory is fine to be honest as long as you don't run to much programs in the background when running darkspace.
Personal min specs.
P4 1.8ghz
1gb
Geforge-2 64mb
(Last tried when we had shadows added)

just want to throw that in:
my comp has one 2.4 GHz core, 1 Gb RAM and a HD 2600
the only part pushed to it's limits while playing DS is the CPU :/

I was able to play DS with an AMD 2500+ 1.8GHz, 1GB ram and a GeForce FX 6600 with lowered graphics.

1.6ghz intel
integrated graphics
500mb ram
and what ever happend to the DS hardware DB?

P3 mobile @ 1.5 ghz, 768mb ram, radeon 9800 CAN play DS on the bare min settings.
