Wish all women on earth, in Darkspace acquire the power to surpass men so that human stops celebrating this day.

Well, I share a house with two women; one of them's already made me some pecan pie and later on the other's making me pancakes.

This day has my endorsement.

I for one welcome our female overlords with open arms.

I get ya.......

If we were truely equal then why dont we celebrate Mens Day?....

I Honor and respect women for who they are and what they do, but...

there would be no need for womens day if they were thought to be equal to men...
sorry

I feel that any day or month dedicated to a person because of their sex or race of is just a nice way to make them feel more important than they are..

example:

Black History Month..... Really? as equals I include all history in my knowlege base and feel no need to seperate black history from any other history.

Exception:

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.......

This was a great man who belived in what he spoke of and fought for.
...However... I judge him not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character...."MLK Jr.- 1968"

The fact that he was a black man is not why he is celebrated, because that would be against his very words.....

The Point........
When mankind truely feels that women are equal to men as a whole....
There will be no need to celebrate womens day...

Besides we already have a day for Mothers and Fathers which is understandable...

you want to have Aunts day, Uncles day, brothers day, and sisters day too, thats great, give it a reason other than just the sex of a person to celebreate them....

I'm conflicted.

While I would support the notion that having a special day to celebrate the equality of certain people generally goes against the concept of people being equal, I would then quite possibly have to shoot myself because I agree with previous posters in this thread.

Well, I've always told this to certain pseudo-feminists.

"Chivalry and equality don't mix."

Surely you don't expect men to treat you equally, and yet still want them open the door for you all the time, give up their seat for you, or do anything that supposedly makes you feel like a lady right?

You mean you don't hold doors open for men?

That's where I've been going wrong.

I always held the door regardless of sex, so long as you where no more then 5 seconds behind me.

... Didn't even know there was a women day... Seems unnecessary.

I usually phase cloak and walk right through them.

Well, the door thingy was just an example. Bad one prolly, but you know what I'm getting at.
The "treat me like a lady, but we want equality" bit is, to me, just hilarious.

That's why I prefer to say that I'll treat women with respect.
Equality is overrated anyway.
