Point is there is no need for kluth dictors, because all ships have that faster JD and repair rate to catch another ships of the same class.
It doesn't make sense to give a dictor to one fraction that can even keep frigates within the dictor for a substantial period.
The only solution i can think of is to decrease the radius of all ship dictors to half or 2/3's of what they are currently.
Since most projectiles cannot hit a cruiser target at 600gu.

in that sence theres no need for any ship based dictors. but there in the game for reasons just like any ship.
on the dictor power issue, im not sure if your talking about the luth or the icc one. im gonna assume that your talking about the icc dictor, since your an icc vet. with the icc dictor you can always shut off your shields when not taking fire( granted i know dictors do take fire) to conserve energy, also icc rail guns use little to no power to reload.
about the lowering the dictor field to roughly half oor 2/3 is a bad a idea in my opinon since it puts friendly ships at risk of being point jumped in there outside that 500-600 gu range. taking away from the usefulness of the dictor.

What about jumping into the field is 1k, but jumping out only affects ships closer then 750 or w/e value.

if it was possable it could work. mean the dictor pilot would have to work a bit harder and expsose its self to more danger to keep that targeted ship dictored.

Or make it so you can't jump with the dictor when it's on? With a cooldown timer on the dictor, they can't keep you forever.
Little ships should be able to get away, it's just the big ships that dictors hold on to.

"was noticing that the piercer is a energy hog."
Good. Welcome to how the other ships behave too. I love to fly an AD, get into a skirmish and then can't fire because...It too is an energy hog. That means I have to throttle back and pay attention to the ship itself.
If you drove your car at full speed, full rpm, it would burn the motor.
Look forward to popping a few more piercers. Hopefully, they'll be piloted by someone who freaks out when the nrg drops.

thats the thing you can only keep it on if your ship is not moving, and if your not moving your an easy target to be taken out. also once you move passed 8 gu's your losing power.
