This may very well have been suggested before to some extent, if it has, I apologize, if not.. well:

I believe that each faction should be given one 'Flagship' or sorts, it would be bigger than a Dreadnaught and would only be flyable by a Chief Marshall. You could only have one flagship out per faction period. A flagship would have the load of a Dread with one significant change, a 'Moral Boost' aura that would increase certain things on all faction ships within 5000gu when it is in use.

For instance:
10% Faster ships.
10% Faster Supplying and Building
20% Faster Cooldowns

The numbers are just random, and could of course be changed. The idea is.. a ships workers would work better when they know they are fighting with the flagship of their faction.

Its just an idea that I thought of while I was sitting here.. *sighs* Let the flames begin.

i think its a decent idea dont know about the 'buffs' it produces tho.. maybe something simple like +5-10% armor/sheild/hull regain?

And only 1 flagship per faction at a time...dunno.

Assault Dread, Elite Assault Dread, and the Siphon are meant to be the Flag Ships.

In that case, I guess Bardiche was right when he said that the Command Dreads and Stations are nothing more than glorified extractors n engies .....

Build in style. N still not very good at it either.

So instead of a Star Destroyer(Dreads) as command ships, u want a Super Star Destroyer(Super Dreads) for that role?

Scouts with ECM slots.

That provide bonus's within 5k.

You can Direct the fleet easier!


But flagships are generally ships of the line that engage in the battle along with the rest of the fleet.

I think it could be worked in with the enhancement code. (make the ship think it has a enhancement) would probally be very buggy at first due to the range portion and the fact its not always there. and ofc the effects would NOT stack with other ships of the same time.

What about a new structure? Like a Naval Academy which can produce "Professional Officers" and have the officers be the buff for the ships which have them? I'm just throwing it out there. Make it so only a planet with a crapload of tech and a shipyard can build it maybe? The stat boosts can be based on the officers skill set like engineers can make you go faster and tactical officers give you more damage or something.

I'm new and I'm most DEFINITELY not complaining. I love this game. I am just tossing this out as it seems like an idea type discussion.
