But to win is not the only parameter that defines a succesfull scenario
these are the parameters that define a successfull scen for me:
- (especially when you're new) improve your constrution skills by testing new builds and tweaking builds you've seen in MV
- try out other factions (I find it veeery sad that there are only so few scenarios with Kluth playable. I'm a loyal ICC in MV, but from time to time I feel like playing kluth for one scen)
- earn different kinds of pres (construction, bombing, planet capping, etc.)
- capture ships (because sooner or later you'll need the Bronze Privateer badge)
- have fun
I lost more than the half of the scens which I consider the most fun ones

Exactly. The ends justify the means.
Depends on yr objective in scen. To me, scen is for stat padding.
I needed the Privateer badge, so I used scen to cap enemy engies or frigs. I just wanna have fun, so I fragged noob player engies in scen to grief 'em.
Etc etc. Whatever floats yr boat in scen. Win, lose, or grief.
You can try out various tactics in scen just for the heck of it.
The ends justify the means.

Winning? To win means nothing in scen, it is just for having a nice happy end.
The best scenario is when all 3 factins get dreads early enough to have some nice brawling, but these days are gone *sneef*.
Back then there where gentlemen agreements to let the others build up there SYs, today anything will spoil the game: AI,tranny rushing noobs, mean vets^^, and the res system.
Scenario now is just nice to relax, get medals, build for fun, teach newbies.

yeah.......... nothing beats Dread-duels in scen
but unfortunately there are many tranny rushers and engi-killers who can spoil every scen.
I tryed it once or twice myself, but it was that far away from being fun that I've never even thought about doing it again :/

The instanced scen beat any MV in popularity 2 fold during its time before res system.
Most games go
Large, persistant world or Instances
Darkspace is neither.
Why else would people like DOTA-like games even with no character progression at all? (most of these games start you wih a fresh new character for each match.
