You'd be better off building one yourself, unless you're one of those "I have no idea how it broke, I followed the instructions" type of people. You can get parts from a computer warehouse type place, or even order them from somewhere like newegg.com and it's pretty well always cheaper than buying a prebuilt system.

or, start with specc'ing out a prebuilt from your manufacturer of choice, then head off to newegg or your online retailer of choice, and shop for the parts you spec'd out

For 2 of the gaming pc's that I bought for my brothers and the one that my cousin got, we just used about a $1000 (for each one) and ordered one of the gaming pc's from HP's main site, customizing each one to how we wanted it within the limit of that $1000.

We are quite happy with all 3 of them. They play games just fine including Battlefield 2 and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion with the graphics maxed. Everything we tried so far on them runs smoothly.

I see most ppl like to buy ready made or 'custom' PCs. Maybe where you live, you don't have stores that sell individual components n parts off the shelves.

Where I live, we have a huge computer mall that houses 6 floors of pc retail stores stocking mobos, PSUs, HSFs, casings, and more; of almost every imaginable brand on the market. You get to see the stuff in the flesh and can touch and feel it before plonking down your cash. Sorta like Akihabara in Tokyo.

So, lucky me... I can easily build and buy my PC component by component off the shelf. I've never bought a "custom" or OEM PC. Everything has been personally built.

Damnit... I finally after years of desire and planning get an Alienware to call my own... and you tell me they moved on NOW? I hate you. Oh so much.

Or you could just get a job there . Then you could play with stuff everyday. But nah... I wouldn't do that. The computer mall's more of a giant toy shop to me. Expensive toys, though. But it's good to have a place like that handy so you can keep yourself abreast of the latest stuff even if you aren't buying.

It's only two malls here filled with computer stores. The Japs have it even better. They have an 2 streets full of it. Spoilt for choice.

Anyway, Mal... you gotta state where you live. Most peeps will give you prices in USD or Euros when they quote you links off Newegg. So the actual cost might be more for you than if you could get it locally. Do you have computer malls in Manila?
