yes this is just for ideas and somewhere for feedback, if it has support and is feasible i will make another thread in beta labeled "Suggestion"

anyways, at the moment Scen is effectively a short term MV without fleet restriction. not really a Scenario of much intrest (sorry devs) so im proposing a new Scen style, sorta like an event but ya know... not and constant.


Idea 1: "seek and secure" kinda thing

You have chosen your class of ship and have to find a damaged (MI) ship (dread?) in the middle of an asteroid field/nebula with a poor scanner range etc.
(MI) ai will be patrolling within the field, mostly low class ships (cruisers< )
you have find this dread most likely badly damaged and not combat capable.
once found an engineer must be brought in and protected for 5 minutes as it retrieves vital info from the ship.

the enemy team will try to stop you at all costs while trying to accomplish the same goal.



Idea 2: siege mode.

one planet highly defended (off II bases mostly and a capital) is held by one faction, faction holding it is random (?) and must be defended by everything youv got.

theres no restrains except the planet cannot be altered by anyone. means no Depot planet camping etc just a hard hitting planet of doom that has to have no defenders within 1000G.U for 5 minutes.

timer will freeze (not reset) once a defender re-enters the planet zone.
An attacker MUST be within 1k G.U for timer to count down.

attackers and defenders will have 4 planet clusters prebuilt very very far away from the target planet.(30 second jump)

Note: Scouts and frigs may be a problem stopping the countdown and skirting around the combat. suggestions for fixing this?


Idea 3: Brigand

just a lil idea.
in this mode you start out as a scout with full hull of (you allways will) inf (1) you must cap enemy ships.
itl be a scoring system, a kill is 1 point a cap is 3 points.
the more points you gain the better the ship you can fly.
Scouts-dessy class ships will get a hull inf refill every 3 minutes so as to allow the game to continue.

(all the disadvantages of flying slower bigger ships however you get more hull room)
(a kill/cap will allow you to change a weapon/EW/Aux etc ??)

i have more ideas, but these ones are jumping to mind first.
Feed back would be appreciated.(or more ideas)

We're not working on scenario anymore (beyond trying to fix the frustrating null map issue). Instead we're trying to bring the elements that make/made scenario fun into the MV.

I like the first two a lot..

But I really do just miss the time before shipyards in scenario, in MV, it was a wonderful add.. Its really too bad that whenever there is a change, or a fix, it effects both servers.

I like all of the ideas (the first two mostly) thay almost sound like missions.

possibility: each system in the MV gets randomly assigned new win conditions each week, based on various game modes. the faction that maintains those win conditions the longest in each system gets a bonus from each system.

e.g. increased resources production, decreased infantry build times, increased population production, etc.

certain systems could always produce certain bonuses as well. e.g. some systems might be more resource rich than others.

others would change week to week, and special larger bonuses could shift around anywhere on the map, possibly encouraging players to actually make use of the lacerta, cassiopeia, procyon, and ursa major servers more.
