depots are intended to repair ships however just like sy the should be inactive when planets are blockaded for all factions.

Im sure it was never intended to allow players to sit at a planet
not to defend it
but just use it as a staging point to farm attacking players with little regard to their own loss

bloakade turns off depot's.........

lets put it too a vote all in favor say I!!!!!!!!

I!

Wouldn't defenders advantage be planetary defense?

for one thing one player could disrupt the whole repairing process and then tag out with another player to keep blockading

Building depots to reload ships continually during an attack is a strategy, not an exploit. Each depot built reduces the number of defense bases/sensor bases/barracks that can be built, so it makes a planet weaker that way.

You Kluth can capture ships and planets by riding your cloaked ships right up to it, quickly cloaking, clicking "U", cloak, and flying away. Don't complain about people who feel like "planet camping" is their only way of defense.

Well we've got supply ships, stations with repair drones, and then of course supply platforms. You've got planetary defense and a dictor, to keep away someone if they decided to try to keep a planet blockaded. Then of course if they just grabbed a small ship, you could pop it within a few seconds. People able to sit at a planet and live with 4 - 5 dreadnoughts shooting at you constantly the whole time and not die; just doesn't make any sense what so ever.

Edit: I believe that the devs said they were going to make a change to stop tranny rushing, I may be mistaken though.

like i said the players surrounding the depot planets are not defending it in fact it is a planet to repair only. not a planet from which to mount a strike.

I dont see many players hugging planets without depots and mounting a combat offensive from there....

I dont see why depots should operate durring a blockade.....

a blockade is when an enemy presence prohibits the resources of an enemy strong hold to recieve aid. be it from other ships via the SY and as such the starports if available should also be inactive while under blockade. Depots provide aid as well and thus should be dissabled

or maybe there should be a limit to the number depots that can be placed on a planet

either way im sure the developers of this game never intended the use of depot planets to farm from player, let alone AI.

lets look at this for example:

Exploitation
The simplest definition is "playing the game system instead of playing the game". Also, playing the game in ways it is not meant to be played for any form of personal gain, be it in-game resources or entertainment value.

i dont think its okay to sit at a planet and be able to destroy or severely damage entire fleets be it ai or players .....

I dont mind having depot planets to run to in order to repair but when that planet is under blockade those depot should be useless.

AI blockade planets when people often need to spawn ships; when that happens you just spawn somewere else. So why not just go repair somewere else.

i get the sense that there are other issues with UGTO that force them to use this tactic. the other factions are just as capable of sitting at planets with 17 depots but choose not to.

i agree that something should be done about UGTO repair spam, but only in the context of other fixes that remove it as a necessary dependance.
