So far we can consider Christmas one, but what else.
You americans have Thanksgiving/Harvest festival, and we have Halloween, But those are not celebrated everywhere..
What would you consider Seasonal.
And no we won't have a Spring or Summer event, because only half of the world (northern hemisphere) has summer at the same time.

i say in 10 days Rogens Raiders and Cartel Verde de Queso either have a war, or a unified attempt to take over the MV. Hmmm pirate wars.
1. War, we could have those 2 fleets duke it out in the name of pirate glory/infamy!
2. Invasion, we could have pirates storm the MV!!!

Christmas, New year, Lunar new year, World event (world cup, olympic...), World holiday (there are some)... are seasonal, consider?
How about an Elite droping 1 credit for whoever destroy it?

all of these ideas sound fun but i like the idea faustus sead about the elite santa but how about makeing all factions green to eatchother while we hunt down and ruthlessly murder santa? ugto are lobster bigets and tend to kill luth during all of the mi ingagements instead of letting them join in

i dont think we shiuld be too strikt:
we dont have to choose seasons avaible to everyone on planet
we could select some (possible) fun events from all around the globe
so instead of sticking with known one we could also learn some new ones
Oktober-Fest from germany where the entire crew of your ship get drunk and are unable tho fly in a straight line // the vision get blured //maybe the chatfilter and some drunkish phrases like "...hic!"
but something we should avoid: national events dedicated to a nations successes eg. "Tag der deutsche Einheit" where west-germany celebrate their reunion with east-germany

I think that somethink like that would be the best. Atleast for now. This way its nothink major and adds somethink unusual. And suggestion with santa hat and other stuff mentioned above isnt Darkspace style. Its more for RPG type games like Lineage 2. But still that idea sounds good too.

See, therein lies the problem, methinks.
Not everyone celebrates the same things, and since this is a game visited by people from all over the world, you'd have to do quite a lot of seasonal events to make sure that you had everyone covered.
You might say "oh, it'll only be, like, three or four, surely?", but then you must recall that while there are other MMOs that do plenty of seasonal events, they also have large teams of designers, modellers, writers and programmers who get paid to put the events together, rather than doing it in their spare time.
