I, for one, think it looks very good as is. Definitely would put the runways on top of the ship rather than below - there should probably be something below but I'd reserve it for the bombing bays I believe the Command Carrier will still keep getting.
An engineering compartment and it'd be paafekutou. [ This Message was edited by: Bardiche on 2010-06-06 14:52 ]

Final draft. Mediafire link for Blender file to follow.
I'm done with this little project.
- Got rid of the wing domes and replaced them with pylons and struts
- Added some detailing in the pylon/strut ends
- Added bridge at the top of the superstructure
- Added detailing at the ventral hull, sort of engineering section or protruding fighter bay (depends on texture to be used)
- Changed the hexagonal exhaust ports back to circular ones with some detailing
- Minor detailing work on the main hull
That's it folks. Hope you enjoyed this little trip.

i love it but try adding 4 small squares to the front of the ship to give it a sense of a cargo storage look.

I hate flying DNs, but I'd fly one of those just because it looks badass.

I am going to work on my modification, here will be my goals.
1: Massively reduce polycount without significantly impacting the appearance of the ship.
2: Revamp the engines to match that of other ICC ships.
I may end up revamping the nacelle structure of the ship, which does looks really cool, but does not really fit ICC Design.

Good luck.
The poly count is pretty high because I used a 'discombobulation' script that generated those hull bumps. Still new at this so making this ship up was good practice for me. Glad that at least some of you like the design.

only thing i have to say on it is the "pylons" look out of proportion to the rest of the ship, either the hull itself needs to be narrower or the pylons need to be bigger. Still one awesome looking super dread or command dread. I may dust off my own modeling ability's and do the same. I too haven't touched it since my HS days but I still remember what to do.

I have been making changes to the model, I revamped the bridge, I changed the engines/drives to be more ICC-like, I shortened the hull, and I have been working on other parts of the model. Initially I attempted adding an M-400 like wing structure to the ship, seen here, but it did not turn out to my liking.
I decided to do M-300 styled engines instead, and it is turning out quite interesting. Here are the results below:

Edit: Just got done redoing the nose... heres the results:

Well, I cannot figure out what to do more with the model, so I guess I will be passing the baton. Here is what I got:

I think it looks great. Personally, it reminds me of Alliance ship designs from "Serenity".
It'd be awesome if we could revamp the models for our ships, perhaps a unique one for each class of Dreadnaught and Cruiser, rather than adding a whole new class? That'd be pretty cool, if time consuming.

Slight redesign using 3DS Max 2010
- Adopted ICC styled nacelles and pylons
