The reason why a lot of people would like to see this as a Command Carrier replacement instead of the Combat Dread/Assault Dread replacement you were hoping for is that a lot of ICC players think the Command Carrier is genuinely ugly, and not fitting in with the design philosophy of ICC. So, you can imagine we are quite happy when you came along with something to potentially replace that hideous monstrocity.
Another thing, you might want to take a look at the exhaust ports. ICC Exhaust ports tend to have a peculiar design, which your ship does not seem to follow. [ This Message was edited by: Leopard on 2010-06-04 23:40 ]

2 spheres in the aft reminds me of UGTO station's spheres.
New ICC concepts (like AD) has sharp-point at the aft.
I think curve demonstates UGTO and sharp-line symbolize ICC. Kluth? Pleiad!

Awesome design! Lots of people now are getting into designing new models for DS. I think this could be a new era of DarkSpace.

One Leopard does not a lot of people make.

At least three other people have said, at minimum, that new models would be welcome.

Some minor tweaks.
- Gotten rid of the rounded "wing" and aft superstructure, replaced it with sharper lines.
- Added a bit of detailing on the ventral hull (though it's still quite blank/smooth)
- Changed the exhaust ports to hexagonal ones instead of circular types.
- Added in 2 more pods on the wings, giving it sort of a "cruise-mode" X-wing fighter kinda look... or that of Star Trek's USS Prometheus
Overall, I was trying to go for a Super Star Destroyer kinda superstructure effect. The "city block" effects give it a sense of immense size that a mile long ship should have.
I'm almost ready to let it go to one of you ICC nuts to take over. Just a bit more detailing to do.

you know you can create a high poly object and then just meke it lower poly, the engineports could be nice and oval instead of squared

LOL. No I don't.
I'm not an expert 3D modeller, TBH.
But I can conceptualize something pretty decently.
Now if only I had a small army of expert monkeys taking dictation from me and converting them into 3D drafts.

It looks a lot better now. I would replace the two 'bulbs' on the sides with arms from the M-400 series dreadnought. It would improve the distinct 'ICC' look on it considerably. Then I would add a fighterbay to the bottom to detail the bottom out some, would also match the M-300, which is completely flat on the bottom with exception of the fighter bay.

yes we are, but that's because we will be looking at it for while (if the devs decide to use it). personally still needs one or two minor tweaks but I like it. really has that ICC look to it and with even more tweaks could go for UGTO look as well, so this design is good for as a base model to work off of.
P.S. I get a little nutty for looks. I once spent a day just trying to get the color just right on car for a game(NFS:underground), 3 days if you include all the details and etc.
