sometimes if you give them food helps, or if you give them some power, or ease some strees on the "work"...sometimes none of that and its just helpless
go away, do something else. come back later and cap her

I had a planet in a revolution earlier in scenario..... I just slapped on some extra food and didn't have a problem for the rest of the three hours or so of that scenario.

So create lots of fast food franchises all over your planet? Build lots of little Americas keeping your population fat and ignorant. Seems to have been mirrored on RL, nice.

As jack stated keep moral high, prevents the planet from revolting (moral plays a dominant factor in almost all planetary events.)
Having surplus food stimulates the moral of a planet. Still having enemy troops on the planet, letting the planet get bombed (even if no structures hit) or when population is killed (This includes dying off population from not enough food). All if this lowers the moral substantially. Take action that it won't happen again and then having +10 food surplus helps raise the moral faster.

Plagues don't get triggered by having to much food.
Small hint, have you ever seen a small populated planet get hit with a plague?

easy way to make money with this system:

Bribe the population. Make it so you can transfer some credits to boost the morale.

I suppose that explains why it's usually SY planets that get plagued.

used to be that when plagues hit, you shut down star ports to prevent spread to other sp planets, if I remember right. Keep 10 more food than pop helps too. Once it goes into rebellion, make sure it has 32 inf, and stay in orbit. Its a tender, unsure, scared little planet. make it feel safe.

On the other hand, taking nearby planets should effect moral on nearby planets. For example, if all of Mycopia cluster is capped by Luth save Mycopia itself, than the moral on Mycopia should be in the cellar as they are not feeling very secure with the ability of their current landlords to protect them.

but i am off topic.

Yeah,
Well you can build and mine,
It is good for your mind.
Well you can bomb and scrap- Wait for the enemy to cap.
But you won't stop the planet having revolutions,
No you won't stop the planet having revolutions, no no no...

(With apologies to T-Rex.)
