i am NOT trying to nerf your faction. honestly? i love flying kluth as much as i love flying ICC. Raven has been kluth several times in the past to (succesfully) demonstrate that you were not underpowered in previous versions and to promote teamwork. im sure a couple of you heard me talking with a kluth player in sag the other day about how kluth should cap some planets themselves instead of just playing third wheel to ICC and UGTO - and they did! very successfully i might add, took over all of R33 and probably couldve taken BD from us had they kept coming.

that fight highlighted the problem though: kluth are more offensive capable than ICC are defensive capable, which means there is a game imbalance. kluth V ICC should be like heaven and hell meeting, two forces excelling at the thing the other does not: kluth weapons should have a tough time cracking our defense, whereas our inferior weapons should have trouble hurting you.

this is not the case though. either our shields are not good enough or kluth have one of the issues pointed out before.

evidently it is not that your ships repair too quickly, so lets discount that. i can still speak for myself in saying that ive found even the siphons energy levels to be too high. ICC have issues keeping our energy levels running in a fight, kluth are supposed to be the same. maybe im just used to managing energy from playing ICC but it didnt feel that difficult. uncloak, fire until my target was dead or moved away, recloak and move around to evade fire. repair. re-enter combat.

heres my problem: kluth arent supposed to be defensive, so why are you cloaking when your ARMOUR goes down? i just explained that the whole purpose to automated repair was to make your hull LIKE armour. originally your ships had NO armour at all. armour was added because of complaints that you were too easy to kill, but i think if you look at the total kill counts for evenly matched ICC/kluth fights you will find kluth scoring a lot more kills than ICC. that says somethings wrong to me. youre supposed to be cloaking when your HULL gets dangerously low, not when you lose ARMOUR. question: how fast does ADR repair armour?

the original intent to my understanding was for kluth to get at most 2 alphas out before having to cloak and recharge, making them rely on hit and run. this is definitely not the case. my siphon can fire for ages in scenario, with enhancements that could only get worse.

i dont think kluth is outrageously overpowered or needs a big nerf, i think there is a small game balance problem. i am sure ICC has some small balance issue as well, and im very open to hearing about it and making suggestions to fix it. if you need an example: when ICC had torp MDs and our ridiculously overpowered escort dessies i told everyone i met not to use them (and got kicked from a server for doing it). so dont presume im trying to bash a single faction. im trying to make the game balanced. maybe my perception is kind of skewed, youre welcome to give your own inputs, but dont dismiss the possibility of a problem existing for no reason.

There are some valid, and invalid points in this post.

Regardless of which is which, notes have been taken.

I'm going to lock this thread now as it's becoming more of a back and forth squabble.
