Not sure where you got that particular demographic from, but this is in fact intended to be a family friendly game, which is why the staff moderates the way we do. So you are only allowed to swear as much as the (Disney) Pirates of the Caribbean pirates. Which is to say: not.

I think muting /y will help a lot.
But, moderators should watch this kind of players and boot em the many times they need to get calmed.
We, the vets, also should help to maintain order, honor and sportmanship. We all know wich is the DS spirit that we all fell in love of. And.. there are a lot of KIDS here.. so people WATCH UR LANGUAJE! not everybody are matures.
Agree on yell fix.

I'm sorry, I enjoy a little smack talk. I like it when people call me cowards for jumping out with 10% hull, or when I'm in the scenario and the ICC/UGTO are calling me out to decloak and fight. It's a game, you're pitted up against an opponent, why NOT?
Calling people "noobs" or "idiots" is another issue, as its generally meant to be derogatory and that they don't play well, and I do agree with that.

I do enjoy a little smack talk.
And I do like it when a hoonam player calls me a coward for cloaking and then hitting him in the back and then scooting off again. Or if he has just respawned his 5% ship and I destroy him there and then.
It simply shows that I am frustrating him. And if what I'm doing is pissing him off, so much the better. Emotions affect ppl's good judgment. He'll make more mistakes being angry.

A little bit of the red rage text is alright. Your suspost to be fighting someone, If they don't get a lil mad about it your doing it wrong. HOWEVER there are somethings that do go over the line, and that's why I do think this little mute button would be useful.

I was dissapointed to see this was introduced in the recent patch or the update to the patch. While it has been suggested that this should be introduced in a new patch I cannot see any notes on it being introduced and I am wondering if it will ever come to fruition.

Nothing to do with /yell was changed. A few patches ago we added the ability for /ignore to work in-game, which was documented in the Development Log. We had originally planned to add the ability to block /yell in the last update, but time constraints and more important features presided over it.
