Early weekend for me so i tought let me do some DS forums..

As far as i know:
at 0.0+ signature you could be detected at 4000 gu by a dread running a scanner.

Besides what "Boom *Explosio Junkie*" and "Pakhos" have said, each ship has its own sensor range.
For the exact list there in the DS-DB under "3.1 Hull Classes". Sensors & Minimum View Range.
EW gadget information is in there to under "4.4.3 Electronic Warfare.

[/small]p.s. The only*thing* i can't seem to figure out was about structures. A structure has 1.0 signature, so for a corvette they should become visable at 750gu, but for all ships it is around 500gu.[/small]
