If it was because it seemed frivolous, then I'd like to know how in the hell the Nav badge can possibly still remain. I mean.....u get a badge for jumping...because there is so much skill involved in that after all......

So the medals are under a separate system? Can that be tweaked to provide more of the badges which people seek?
What are the limitations on that?

They're not set in the database. Well, they are, in the sense that your profile reacts to the stats in your profile. But when the game is checking for ship requirements and whatnot, it's using a different flag system that's limited to a certain number of bytes or something...
I'm not a pro or even entirely clear on the issue, I just know it's:
- Not quite that simple
- Not a database/mysql issue
